Default Smoking pulls you toward insanity

Do you ever feel that the longer and the more you smoke, the closer you get towards understanding the truth?

When you shed your ignorance, and more and more is revealed to you do you become overwhelmed? So much to the point where you start to go insane?

I think the most overwhelming thing for me is when your other people refuse to see the truth. They proceed to be douches and give of horrible amounts of bad vibes. TRUE people will give nothing but good vibes.

no. You just realize half the **** you usually stress about isn't worth it.

Talking Truth?

If you take your epiphanies seriously you tend to get frustrated when others don't see things the same way. Every person is his own universe and contains his own "truths". The separation between internal reality and consensus reality can be subtle and difficult to identify.

The answer is to not take yourself so seriously. Accept that "truth" is a moving target which we can approach but not own.

One of the smartest men in the world, Aldous Huxley, once had a revelation while under the influence of something or other. He thought at the time that it was the key to the universe. He wrote it down.

When he woke up the next morning, the piece of paper read, "Higamous hogamus, women are monogamous. Hogamous higamous, men are polygamous."

Cannabis does have the general effect of letting one view life from a different perspective, and thus, one starts to think and question things that seems unthinkable or unquestionable before. This of course could very easily lead to one feeling alienated by others who cannot see or think the way this person does. So, if insanity can be defined as having many thoughts and ideas that are not of normal reason or logic, then perhaps Cannabis does pull you a bit closer.

I agree with this, but I also agree with Buzzby: we all have our own truths, and can never fully realise them. I believe weed can help us get closer though, in a sort-of assymptotic convergence.

And I also write **** down on paper that I think is the Key to the Universe, and then can't fully grasp what I meant at the time. However each session brings back memories and clever ideas.

Also in a more real/sober way of thinking I have come to the same conclusion as THE ODA, that weed affects your mind enough to see everything from a different perspective, and as your mind and body affects your view on everything, you can build up an objective view on life.

I completely disagree with this. Just because others can't accept or aren't ready to accept truth doesn't mean that truth doesn't exist as insoluble fact. It doesn't make your epiphanies non-serious just because others don't understand or disagree.

The answer is definitely NOT to take yourself less seriously. That'd be like saying, "Man this algebra is pretty easy for me, but I'm only in seventh grade and none of my friends understand it. I know, the answer is to give up trying to learn math at all!"

The real answer is simply to understand the fact that people have to be ready for life-changing information before they'll accept it. Some people will never understand some of the things you understand, simply because they never bring themselves to that level. Likewise, some people know things about life that you will never understand, simply because you will never reach their level. But keep trying to grow and learn anyway, it isn't important what other people's limits are, only your own.

You create your own reality, and you can change the world if you make up your mind to.

These two statements are contradictory. If truths are "insoluble fact" then you can't create your own reality - there is an absolute reality. If you can create your own reality then your truths are personal and don't apply to other people.

You can't have it both ways.

I feel like I understand political and social issues more when I am stoned....and how to solve them. I get really frustrated by what I perceive as the close-mindedness of politicians on solving U.S.....or even world problems.

I wish Bush would sit down with his cabinet someday and pass around the phattest, highest FDA quality stash he can get his hands on and actually DO some good for this country and for the world. We have the power to do so, but in my mind, the answers are only revealed to me when I'm high.

I'm not even going to go into some of the topics that race around in my head....but I get so sad when I think about the money we are wasting in Iraq that could have gone to the tsuanami victims and made me PROUD to be an American again!
