| When I get stoned, I know I think of some of the craziest stuff. Like, questions that are extremely thought provoking. Just wondering what some other people have thought of. Think about this: everyone in the world has a different face, different body, different voice, and different personality. I understand that some people look similar but no one is exactly the same. My question is, if everyone is different that is living right now, has it been that way since the beginning of time, or are we just repeating others from the past? Kind of like reincarnation, but not exactly. If you don't believe in reincarnation, how is all of this possible? |

| you know what, im gonna run out on a limb here and say that we've always been different. Do you realize how many possible different combinations of even just the physical aspect of humans there are? it's simply too high to count, i would even venture to say that it's infinite. We do carry similar characteristics down through the generations, but it's never repeating, because each time a new woman is involved (hopefully every generation ) her genes and dna change change the mix for the next child. the posiblities are really endless.i know what you mean though, i always get messed up thoughts like that. im just not stoned ![]()

| i have always wondered how come people are diferent and animals are not. There is so many diferent types of faces, bodies, colors and shapes but we are all Homo sapiens sapiens. But if you take a zebra, all zebras look a like. The black/white stripes will change, just like everyone has a diferent finger print. But you dont see zebras with asian eyes or big fat zebras. The only animals that will have diferent types within the same species are the ones that humans domesticaded, like dogs, cats, horses, chickens, pigs....etc...weird.

| DoritosMan I would have to say that you are inaccurate about humans being the 'special' animal that looks different. Your own post states that you allready know that Zebras are different, yes? I would venture to say that the main reson humans are different is because of our lifestyles. Most animals of a same species look and act similar because they all live in the same type of environment. This is just my hypothysis(sp?) but you dont see fat zebras because they eat grass and spend their time running from predators. CaitiQ I myself do not believe the creationist theory so i have no reason to believe that we came from 2 white people and changed from that. If you, like the scientific community of today, believe that we evolved from apes it is easier to accept that our different geographic climates effected our evolution from ape to man in different ways. im not sure that you can make a case for reincarnation that makes more sense and is provable like DNA. So yes we are in a way repeating the past in our genes. It is kind of like the telephone game in that i tell you something and you tell someone who tells someone else etc... by the time it gets down 10 or 20 people the content has changed. |

| This is what I thought of yesterday. It was downtown, very hot out, and me and a few people were eating this HOT Indian food; we were also very stoned. I asked one of the guys I was with (who is Indian) 'Why would Indian people, who live in a hot climate, eat such hot food? If I were them I would walk around eating ice cream all day.' But think about it... most dishes in that area are very spicey, but why? I remember reading that curry came around as a way to mask the taste of spoiled meat, but that wouldn't explain the majority of the food being hot. After getting weird looks from everyone near me, the guy said 'Because the main spices in that area just happen to be hot'. That ruined my huge theory on Why People In Hot Places Eat Hot Food ![]() |

| I understand that animals are also very different in their own ways. I also understand that that magnitude of the possible combinations of DNA make it possible to be different. But, another thing to ponder is the thought of being an old soul. Have you ever known something that you just didn't know where you learned it from? My theory is that we are all just repeating the past. We lived in the past and as we learn things throughout our different life times, we remember them for the future. Obviously, this is very out there but it is definately something to think about. It all is just connected when you really think about it, in my opinion. Very good thought, why do Indian people eat hot food when they live in hot climates? |

| The reincarnation theory is interesting, but if we all remembered the things we learned in past lives, we would all be much more knowledgable than we are today. I admit that I have somehow spontaneously 'known' something, but not many things... And if our past lives lived active lives(say that 5 times fast!) then I wouldnt' know just a couple things, I'd know many things.... But dont worry, 'out there' theories are the best. They're usually right in the mind and spiritually. We just can prove 'em through science because the definition of 'phenomenon' is 'unexplainable'. -Vaya

| Doritos Man: What about possums or even birds like the finch? I've read there are like 13 different spcies of the finch like the small ground finch, woodpecker finch, mangrove finch. CaitiQ: Can you give a specific example of what you mean about knowing something you didn't know you knew?

| You would win the lottery 1000 times, before you ever found anyone exactly like you, it'd never happen, but interesting theory. |
