So If the universe operates in mathematical terms, which it really seems to, the same equation type deal should hold

Sorry to post so many times but, what im saying overall is that if we view the universe from an altered state of conciousness then the porpotion would also change. And If the Universe is built upon a proportion (as we see it as) than it can't operate on mathematical terms because the base that it operates off of changes.

Yes, I'ev. I'd heard about the number before though. The proportions found in nature happen to be near PHI, but not often exactly. This could easily stem from the magnification of some sort of standard setup of subatomic/atomic matter. If the number PHI were some universal constant existing even before the big bang, that would suggest that there is some sort of intentional structure and reason for there to be this apparently random number. Do you believe in God? I do not think the number is a universal constant, I think it arises from the standard interactions between particles in our universe.

dont know if this has been stated already but I believe in the expanding/contracting universe as in the big bang as we know it was just the mother of all blackholes which all the matter in the universe was drawn into. This causing a catyclysmic explosion which then becomes the next fase. Damn I'm pretty smashed... nice to come back to mj.com after ages and still see stimulating threads

I didn't read all 5 pages, but I will add my own musing to this. Sorry if it got mentioned.

This is all going by memory, so correct me if I'm wrong.

All stars have a life cycle of expanding from tiny, and then contracting from huge. If a certain star is massive in size, during it's collapse, it's gravity would pull in on itself, thus creating a black hole. A black hole sucks all light in, so it could have anything in it... we just can't see it.

Now, if a black hole is viewed as nothingness to us, then we don't know about it's properties, such as size.

Given all of this, is it not possible that our entire universe is simply one black hole that is contained "elsewhere?" The big bang is based on the cosmological principle of expanding and contracting that I mentioned above. We also think that our universe was very, very small, and then massively expanded to what it is now. And is still expanding. It seems to me that it has the same properties of a black hole.

If we are nothingness contained elsewhere... then there must be multiple... thousands... upon and upon each other. And we have absolutely no idea.

This is all referred to as the multiple universe theory, I believe.

Something else we must realize is "dark matter," which is found everywhere in space, and we have only recently discovered it when newer technology. I hope that we don't destroy ourselves before we can discover the "next big thing" in these terms. We have no idea what finding will spark an entire era of the valuablity of space...
