| Is it infinite? Can we die? What is the experience like? What are we? I think being dead is probably something un-thinkable to us. Time is what runs our life. We know the feeling of what it is to be alive and to be alive in the present. I think being dead is more like a 4th dimension where our brains can not remotely comprehend what it will be like. There can't be any sense of time when you are dead because otherwise it will be like you are alive. This is all I can think of right now, have to go finish a English essay. Post your thoughts on what you believe death is and being dead. I think I could write some more when I'm high. |

No, I won't get all nit-picky about it because you bring attention to a fascinating topic - one I have endlessly pondered. There are so many different viewpoints of "death" I'd be here all day if I tried to list them all, but I'd say the belief of reincarnation is the one I most strongly believe - the 'death' of one life is the birth of another. If there are in fact multiple universes ( a point you seem to lightly insinuate in your original post ), perhaps this is where we end up when we die - another dimension entirely which is either better or worse in quality compared to our known world based on how we lived our current life. Just a thought. ![]()

I believe in reincarnation that when we die we are truly born in the "place" where existence exists... I guess if that makes any sense? I don't think we are born again in another world like earth where we eat and breathe. I think death or the afterlife is something so unreal and different that in our minds as humans we can't even possibly think of what its like after our life. Quote:
I do believe in a God, I think the world is just too complex and amazing for any of it to just happen randomly. But it does bring up some of the ultimate questions.. Why are we here? whats the point of our life? If God made us who made God? I think that we are so use to our world, nothing comes from nothing and the basic rules and principles that define us that what the "next life" is like is something so different that we as people only exposed to this world don't even have the right resources to think of what death really is. Everything in our world has been created by a creator. But imagine what it's like to create a human? to create smells, and feelings and emotions? It's almost impossible to think about how someone can create these things. It means there is something more powerful and beyond what we are as humans. The only way to find out what death is like is to die! I don't think we just don't exist when we die, there would be no point.. I'm almost somewhat excited to die, just to see what is beyond life and the restrictions of time. Life is amazing though thats for sure... | ||

| I've always kinda hoped death would be something like it is in the movie 'Defending Your life'. ![]() I would hope that you are aware of SOMETHING when you die! I'd even opt for coming back to do it all over again as someone else. ![]() |

| I think of death probably at least 10 times a day, daily, for a very long time. I consider myself a normal person, I usually think about it more when I'm not stoned(I'm not a regular smoker). I have thought about it way too much and have been unable to come up with a satisfactory answer. As someone else said, where were we before we were born? This is what throws a wrench in the whole afterlife thing to me. If there is an afterlife there should have been something before we were born. Thinking about it so much has led me to seriously feel as if my life is from the movie the Matrix, and one day I will "wake up". Unfortunately, that doesn't happen. All i hope for is one "mysterous thing" to happen to me to help me believe in something else, but life is pretty much just methodical and predictable. |
