Default This world makes no sense.

If I were dying and had to leave the rest of you people on earth with one thought, it would be this.

This world makes no sense.

I often wonder how it is that I was born here on earth, a human being, just like the rest of you and the 6-7 billion other people living here... yet I am not really free to do what I want to.

We should all be equal, but really we aren't. Let me explain...

I can understand having laws to provide safety, or to contain chaos...but how is it that I have other human beings telling me that I cannot smoke a plant, or that I need a permit + 6 mths of waiting on a list to head down a river on a kayak. Seriously, somehow I was born here and immediately I had thousands of "authority figures" telling me what I can and cannot do.

How did we get to a point in this world where the few control the many, where people I've never met and will never meet are in charge of my whole life.

It just makes absolutely no sense to me that other people can try and tell me what I can and cant do, especially when it comes to things such as smoking pot - which really doesn't hurt anyone, as longs as I'm responsible about it.

It drives me absolutely mad that we as humans have evolved to a point where we lock up other human beings in 6x6 cages for the most idiotic of things.

The only time other people should interfere with personal lives, is when someone is causing harm to another person, or is doing something that is 100% no kidding wrong.

This world is silly. If we all would just chill and worry about our own lives instead of everyone else we'd be a lotter better off. World peace might actually be in the cards.

Sometimes I wish I'd lived near the beginning of human existence, where I could just chill in the woods, smoke my herb, sleep, hunt for food and chill. The nonsense we have today is getting annoying.

It's a good thing I have buds to keep me sane sometimes.

drop this in the philosophy section next time.

what your suggesting is anarchy. of course there are many laws we don't agree with, and it is our right as citizens to choose to challenge those laws in the attempt to have them changed or altogether removed. as naive as our protesting may seem at times, it does make a difference (well up here in canada anyway )

your upset because you didn't get to choose which society or which time period you were born in, correct? but to quote a great wizard, "all we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."

Someone has been watching too much Into the Wild In fact I'm willing to guess that is what sprung this whole post.

Sometimes, laws do suck. But not all of them suck. I wouldn't want murder to be legal, or theft. Most laws are great laws. Society is not that horrible, you have more freedom then you think. If you don't agree, no one is stopping you from going out and living in the woods somewhere, hunting for your food. If you think you can do it, DO IT!
The fact is most of us can't do it. Most of us don't want to do it. Most of us see that life has a lot more benefits this way than living in the wild. The end of that movie says it all bud, one fuck up and you're toast. No hospital around, no phone, no help, period. If you're fucked, you are FUCKED. No pills for that pain, no dentist for that tooth, no tools to fix the teeth yourself...

When you break everything down, society gives you a lot more than you ever really think of.

That was a grreat way to put how I feel. I too believe that our rights as human beings are slowly being completely stripped away. NO, you can no longer just go out into the woods and live off the land. Have to have permits, licenses, and all that junk. However, it is possible to do just that. Spent many a month in the Bighorns practsing my survival skills in preperation of the Final War.

Your thinking about America when you said the not being free thing. Laws are different no matter where you go. You just have to find the right place. Im probably moving to the Netherlands after college.

I've always found that it is much more useful to make the most of the hand I've been dealt than to complain and fret that it should have been better.

The world makes exactly as much sense as you put into it. "Sense" is internal, not something outside of a person's mind.

If you want to live in an area where laws aren't enforced, there are plenty of them left in this world.

Go to the Pakistani-lawless zone, where Drug smuggling and feudal warlords are common.

The only reason these things happen is because we let them happen. Yes the people of certain countries get elected for a position or something to make laws, but honestly why do we vote for them? So they can tell us what we can and cant do. I say I've had enough but I doubt anyone would sum up the courage to fight back. Another problem though is without the tyrant authorities I think that mans cruelness would just unleash. He would steal unreasonably, and kill unreasonably. The world is fucked. Until people start to realize that the earth belongs to every human and every animal, and every fucking plant/living thing, not just their selfish greedy asses I dont think this fucked up place will ever change. If the world doesn't make sense to you, then make it make sense. Look at things in your persepective and show love and help everybody you can. It helps and you'll start to realize what life and the world should really be like. No hate just love.

That, of course, includes laws that are supposed to protect you from being attacked by your fellow citizens. Everyone in the Pakistani-lawless zone carries an AK47 - for good reason.
