| So now im 17 and for the first time my mom kicked me out. They keep bitching at me about "smoking pot". And they keep talking about how i'm not planning for the future and how I dont have any hobbies, which is complete Bull Sh1t. So I said then just kick me out and she said, the doors open. As soon as I went to walk out she said, no, if you walk out that door i'll call the police and tell them what you and your friends have been doing, and I just laughed at her and walked out. I came in a little while later. Next time she kicks me out i'm gone. I'm going to get a ride to somewhere and i'm not coming back. |

| Doesn't sound like she kicked you out to me.. You're under 18 and living in your parents' house. Which means you should obey their wishes about smoking pot. I think your life would be a lot shittier on your own, while smoking pot (if you could still afford it?).. than living at home and not smoking. My two cents is wait, take a break, save some money, until you can afford to move out and live on your own.

He is not "with it," that is, he doesn't know "what's happening." But if he manages to figure it out, he moves up a notch to "hip." And if he can bring himself to approve of what is happening, he becomes "groovy." After that, with much luck and perseverance, he can rise to the rank of "cool." | is it even legal for your parents to kick you out if you're underage if you have nowhere else to go? wouldn't that be child neglect? |

You'll have a hell of a lot harder time on your own then at home since the majority of your money would go to rent and food. If I were to move out on my own, I'd have to pay about $550 per month (to share a room) towards rent and about $150-200 for food, utilities, internet, gas power etc.. in San Francisco. I'm 19, so legally they can kick me out and legally I can leave, but why would I? Ask yourself this, would you rather cut back on weed for a while, or have to get a job and pay a good portion of your earnings on basic living costs? | |

| How is your relationship with your mom normally? If it's a relationship worth saving, and most relationships with mothers are, then you should talk with her and work this out. Don't be defensive, don't start pointing fingers and blaming.. just talk to her about it like a human. Not like a child; like an adult. Be reasonable and respectful and have an honest discussion. I am sure her points are even a little valid.. she is your mother, she is going to worry. Good luck... |

| I did the same thing when I was five years old. I had some sort of argument with my Mom and threatened to run away. She helped me pack my little suitcase. I was back in half an hour.

| wtf man? why is it so hard for people to stop smoking pot when their parents ask them not to? it's not like it's surprising when your parents ask you NOT to do drugs while you're underage and/or living under their roof. having a free place to live without worrying about bills or groceries beats getting high any day.

| I say you should do what the others in this thread have suggested, just quit for a while. I know, I know, what momma don't know don't hurt her. But when momma finds out it hurts you more than her. |
