And I'm also not a personal believer in a set goal or profession that a person is drawn to. Although higher income professions require more dedication, time, and education, they also tend to be more fulfilling, and a higher income level opens doors early on in life (travel for example). When you start a higher paying job, you really notice how much more freedom comes along with that extra pay.

Also, college doesn't determine your skillset for the rest of your life. Having a genuine curiosity about something means that you pursue it regardless of certification. Sure, certification helps when getting a job, but more knowledge (even if it isn't from accredited sources) is never a setback.

I'm completely sober at the moment and I have to admit that a bunch of stoners I don't know seem like the best bunch of people I can talk to about this. I'm what you might call a "jack of all trades, master of none", I get into a lot of things and do them fairly well for a beginner but I never get serious about anything. I refuse to make career decisions based on money because that's what everyone in my family does and I haven't seen much happiness come out of it. I don't want to go to college without ambition because college fees are the only thing that are really keeping my mom from retirement and she hates her job with a passion but I realize that college may make a very significant change in my future. Any advice on this?
