I've never been to Tijuana, let alone Mexico. Arizona is as far south as I have gone.

Coming from an old California surf bob and a Grem back in the '50's,
Tijuana was a blast - once.
Me and my pals, we just wanted mostly to surf and be left alone to enjoy those pristine Southern beaches. Once we had a few trips under our belts our local brethren were only too happy to share some really nice Mexican grass.

We took none down and brought none back. While tempting, way too many people were getting busted for possession -
on both sides of the border - and no way were we going to trade the freedom and lifestyle of surfing
in that time, and that place.
Talk about girls and boys playing well together...

Haven't been to Tijuana, but I've been to another major border town.
Cheap booze, and none of the hookers were appealing at all.
And a buddy of mine found out the hard way that you can't simply hop into a cab and find a donkey show.

Ive been to TJ a couple times. Went down for some site seeing. Had some drinks, saw a bull fight, did some shoppin. Ive never used a whore so cant comment there but its a fun place to drink and shop!

I went there every now-and-then with my parents as a kid. I remember the smell of leather everywhere, and wanting deperately to smuggle back some fireworks or a switchblade knife in my shoes!

A buddy of mine went there years ago with a few friends and got set-up in a TJ bar by a cab driver! For a coupla joints, it cost him (and the others) 2 weeks in jail and 2,000 bucks! He told me it was so bad he considered offing himself in the cell he was in!

Just remember...once you're there, your protection as an American stays at the border! Corruption is rampant there...keep that in mind. It would also be beneficial to be with someone who knows the area well!
