I have lived in Washington and Oregon, and they are both great places. Eugene, Oregon is a very pot friendly town, and ranks among the best places to raise a family. Pretty much anywhere you go, it will be more rainy than in souther Cali, but the great thing about Washington and Oregon are that they are very even when it comes to the seasons. There are definitely four of them...although it does rain a lot fall through spring, with some snow, but the temperatures reflect the season, even if its rainy. The cost of living in Oregon is lower than Washington, and there is no sales tax, however, property taxes are higher. Washington actually gets less rain (in inches per year) but it is more spread out over time. You would be very lucky to find a 4+ bedroom house in Washington with land for that price, mostly because people have done a lot of migrating from Cali, bringing up the real estate prices.

I was born in Washington, and have lived most of my 24 years here, and I have never been anywhere, except Oregon that is more beautiful, friendly, laid back, and generally liberal. I have been thinking about moving back to Oregon a lot lately, and Eugene is the place to be. Also, keep in mind, that when I am talking about these two states, I am referring to the western half, as it is pretty much crappy desert land in the east...I personally could never live anywhere where there was no large body of water, since I grew up in the San Juan Islands...Good luck!

Oh, and Wikkipedia is a good source for looking up cities, they have demographics, housing costs, average incomes, and general info.

It's a rumor. The ratio is like 1.07:1, men:women.
