Unhappy My most treasured possession, stolen.

I feel kind of bad complaining about this because much worse things have happened/are happening to other people, but still, I'm feeling down about this.

Tonight when I got off work and went down to my company's private lot I could see that my driver's side window had been smashed. When I looked in my truck it was obvious I'd been broken into and it wasn't just some accident that broke my window.

I went back into my work and called the cops and they took down all my info and whatnot. Then when I hung up it dawned on me that I was playing at a bar last night and I'd left my bass guitar in my truck.

Sure enough, when I checked behind my seat, no bass. My first and only bass I've ever owned in my years of playing is gone. This was the bass that I actually learned how to play bass with. Before I was ever in a band, playing gigs, jamming with cool people...

Some of you may think it's silly to be so upset over losing a guitar, and yeah, in the grand scheme it probably is. But this guitar just had so much sentimental value to me and I'm really going to miss it.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share my sad tale on this sad night for me.

sorry to hear that man I lost all of my first guitars too but i can tell you that you will definetely forget about it quicker when it's replaced, by something better possibly.
my very first guitar wasn't even full sized it was a baby accoustic I had it since i was a kid and never played it and my first electric was a bentley(strat rip off) that I got after i started learning anyway i lost the electric first by letting a girlfriend borrow it. that would later happen to me again with a much hotter girl and a much better guitar. the accoustic I burned in a Jimi Hendrix like ritual with all my friends watching it was a blast. so sorry to ramble but trust me you'll get over it and eventually you will have a replacement.

Well, you have fun finding that one single person in your entire town. GOOD LUCK! But anyway, it's a bummer about your bass but just get a new one when you can afford it and you'll build up some more sentimental value with that piece.

Man, I feel for ya. I have had my car broken into three times. One of the times they actually stole my car. It's one of the worst feelings in the world to go out to your car and realize that some piece of shit has stolen and vandalized your personal belongings.

All I can say is learn from your mistake. I'm sure you have heard this thousands of times by now, but just don't leave valuables in your car, ever. The first time my car was broken into, they got my ipod, cd collection, a birthday check that I just got, and my first pipe. I learned after that, and the second time (when my car was actually stolen), there was nothing of value for those jackasses to have....well except my actual car, which was found later in a chop shop. And the 3rd time, they literally got nothing except for the change in my ashtray, but they left their screwdriver sitting in my passenger seat, so I got a phillips head and a broken door handle for a handful of change.

I wish you the best in finding a new bass guitar. And have a little peace knowing that those fuckers will get whats coming to them.

She was like a baby to you, what your feeling is understandable. If someone had taken somethign with so much sentimental value I'd feel the same way.

I hope the crook gets caught, or at least gets what he deserves, as he will in the grand scheme of things.

Until then keep your head up, maybe write a song about your 'lost baby'

I am sorry to hear about your baby. I know how that feels. I have never lost an instrument (since I don't know how to play one) but someone broke in my jeep and stole the jacket that my father bought me one year for Christmas. They even cut my top when all they had to do was unzip the damn thing. They didn't have to tear shit up to get to it. That jacket was one of the very few things my father actually bought me that I liked. He usually bought me old lady clothes or old lady jewelry. This time he hit the jackpot and I really liked that jacket. So that's what really pissed me off.
