I live with my grandparents, and I like to be open with them, but, they seem to associate MJ with other, hard drugs (since my uncle used MJ, but he also used man made off-topics, he also didn't just smoke MJ, he smoked an bankie (roughly an 1/8th or more) a day (J was cheap back then, in SA it was like $0.5 per gram.))
This, obviosly fucked him up (he dropped out of university and he still is mooching off of my parents). Now my grandparents freak out from every mention of marijuana, and still think it is addictive, even though, on avarige, I only smoke on the weekends and when I can't sleep.
I need some help in convinsing them that it wasn't the MJ that fucked him up, but the man made shit.

Just don't let them know about your toking and keep living responsibly. Eventually they'll find out that you smoke and see that it hasn't affected your life negatively. Obviously it'll require some work from you to stay living up to their stndards and some convoncing too. But it's what worked with my mother, who hated pot for the same reason (she was convinced it was turned my uncle into a dope fiend).

I just do not like keeping secrets from them, but I think I will keep it a secret for another few years, and then I will tell them.

I would personally continue to hide it from them but if you were to come and out and admit your use than it should not be too hard to get them to understand. You can start off with something that shows them MJ is not as shadey as society makes it out to be because I am coming out and telling you of my use and not hiding it like a closet smoker. Then pound them with a world-full of cannabis facts.

I alredy told them, but they are in denial, and I am pounding them every day with facts, since even before I started to smoke, I knew more about weed than most casual smokers. (I read ALOT. I researched it for a year before even taking my first hit, and right now that is my main defence in saying that I did not rush into it and I accepted the consequenses of my actions, good and bad, after thinking about it for some time.)
