| Spiral man, you know stealing is wrong Revenge is wrong. Now, at least ive snuffed out the thief. Now that dude won't pillage from the office fridge anymore. Case closed. Hear that CASE CLOSED. This thread has already outlived it's purpose. CSI and shit no more...the thief has been caught...exposed and likely subject to company disciplinary action.

Even if he does admit he was touching food in the refrigerator, he could claim that he cleans the refrigerator from time to time and this particular piece of pizza had been left there for several days, that he was just doing his job, not stealing. Why would they discipline him for that? You got your revenge, now that poor sap is in 100 X the discomfort you were ever exposed to by not eating your leftover, chewed on, reheated, morsel of a measly lunch. You are happy and laughing about it. It might not be over. This janitor might just sue his employer, who then would conduct an investigation and find that you were the culprit after all. I sincerely hope that happens. You wanted justice for your stolen garbage of a lunch, well I hope this guy gets justice for his pain and suffering. You always hear of a burgler falling while burglarizing a business and suing the business owner for damages. Well, this isn't the same thing. DaDornta went out of his way to plant a dangerous substance in a publicly used refrigerator. The janitor might have been cleaning the refrigerator of garbage, came across your crappy piece of crust and while seeing if it was actually a piece of food or just a wrinkled up piece of tin foil, accidently came in touch with your "sauce". While you might have thought it was funny, it was a stupid and dangerous thing to do. As I said before, I hope the janitor gets justice now.

| What is interesting about this thread is that it is very easy to see people's political leanings. Some people have this unnatural belief in the laws and rules. There are others that believe it is their right to take action, and have retribution(not revenge), which also serves as an indicator to his superiors who the person is that is stealing. We have lots of laws, many of them that are almost designed to help those committing crimes. For example in many states if a burglar breaks into your house and hurts himself he can SUE you, even though he was committing a crime. Power is delegated to our representatives. We have the power, and responsibility to make sure that there is justice and order. Not hope that taking some pacifistic stance will help us because, that is "the way it should be." Frankly I like to see someone doing something for themselves in the face of injustice. Lord knows that American society nowadays is all about me, me, me. No insults or negative things intended. End Rant. Congrats on catching your culprit in a way that required some thought, rather than just sitting in wait for him. You have helped stop someone who was not only taking advantage of you, but of your employer, and fellow employees. |

| I wish I would have thought of this sooner, but you could have used a "babysitter camera." Hiding a camera somewhere inconspicuous, someplace that blended in with the environment. You would have had video footage of him stealing the food, and he couldn't deny that.

Wait did you only put hot sauce on it? If you didn't only put hot sauce on it then that's kinda fucked up. But it's all done now and there is no turning back. Quote:

This sauce (without the quotes, of course) is a real sauce that real people do put an real food. Then they proceed to actually eat the foot. How do I know this? I know what Capsicum is, it's a food additive, which people use just like Salt, Pepper, etc. This is really not very different than over salting the foot to an extreme degree (enough to cause some discomfort) with different symptoms. Rather than extremely dry throat, you have very spicy throat. You take a risk, whenever you eat someone elses food, that it might be contaminated with food additives or substances which you are not fond of (or allergic too). If you want to ensure that your food has 0 hot sauce on it, I suggest preparing it (or at least purchasing it) yourself. DaDornta isn't lacing it with Arsenic or LSD, he's putting some capsicum, which is part of many foods, and an extract that is used in many (many) dishes.

| I put it in quotation marks because he didn't use it as a flavoring or in the normal way sauce is used. He used it as a marker. A tool in his trap. Most people don't use food additives to catch perceived theives. And, just because the custodian or janitor got the substance on his hands, is no proof that he was stealing the food. As I said, he could have been cleaning the refrigerator. It doesn't matter what he used, it was how he used it that makes it wrong. |

| I ONLY used a dime-sized amount on each slice (which were nice sized) of dave's insanity sauce. Commercially available -- and used as a food additive all the time. Good lord...it's not like I laced it with anthrax. Last edited by DaDornta : 07-06-2008 at 10:13 PM. |
