I don't really think that I'm successful. I guess I'll just have to keep working at it.

I am on my way to being "successful". When I was in high school, I never did any work, studied for any test, never did anything at all. Hell I didn't even think about college until we had someone come into our class and asked us what college we were applying to that fall. The end of my senior year I took the ACT and scored a 26.

Even with the high test score I wasn't sure if college was right for me. Summer went by, and that August Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. After the storm, I moved back to the city to help my father rebuild our home (as we had lost everything we owned in the floods). I took a job at my uncles construction company, and remodeled houses for 8 months. The job was grueling 10 hour days in houses with no AC. Which made me get my act together and rethink my situation.

I finally decided to go back to school after taking 8 months off. I started off as a business major, but quickly realized that it wasn't the thing for me. I quickly switched my major to Biology (specifically medicine) and haven't looked back since. I will be applying to medical school this fall.

Sorry for the life story.

The point to this extremely long post is........even if you think that you can't do something, if you want it bad enough you can be successful. Not everyone can make millions, but if you strive to be the best that you can, at whatever it is that you do.....anything is possible.

I am very successful. I am young, and has established myself as being one of the best tattoo artist in the U.S. I own multiple shops across U.S. and just got a new house seconds from the beach. The State I live in, legalized tattooing not to long ago, so... There's not that much competition and business is booming. I am also in the works of opening up a night club. In which, I'd think it would be so much fun to do that as well. I am blessed with being a great artist, and have used that skill to success.

As many others have said, you can take everything away from me. If I am able to have a roof over my head, and simply draw/paint for a living, that as well would be a definition of success. Doing what you love.

Not sure about successful. Happy, fulfilled, satisfied? Absolutely! Been smoking for 36ish years. Married for 21 years, my wife smokes as well. 3 grown children, 5 grandchildren. Own our home, run a small business with my wife ( no pre-employment tests for me). Remember the key to pot is moderation.

Good luck with the nightclub man! My dad use to own one and it was awesome. Unfortunately, it is such a turnover market that one day you are rocking and the hottest thing around and then you find yourself selling the business. Fun while it lasts though.

Cool

I still don't have an answer. At my age of fifty one I can say been there, done that to the job and raising kids and other stuff that I used to equate with success and I still seem to be just happier everyday to wake up.

I think success for me now would be to achieve spiritual enlightenment and self-awareness.......I ain't there yet........

I wouldn't say it's a great job, but I am still young and it's not my career by any means. It pays decently well.. I don't hate it, and I get to do a lot of reading at work when we're not busy.. which is nice.

Am I successful?
Not yet.

But I'm in the process, that's what's life is about.

You gotta somewhere. I am relatively happy, and working towards gaining an education to become 'successful'.
