About two weeks ago I was out and about wearing my sunglasses and I had my regular ones hanging from my shirt collar. I got out of the van I was riding in and my readers fell to the ground. I was blind except for my sunglasses. It has been miserable waiting for my prescription to be filled, so I put on a different pair of glasses, (some old ones) and I was still blind only it wasn't as fuzzy.........

When I got my new ones it was like being in the twilight zone for awhile. I change glasses a lot and have three or four pair. But, for those of us who need them, we know there is a certain pair we like, and the ones I busted were it.

I just put the new ones back on and it sure is great to be able to see again. It also showed me how bad my eyes were. I couldn't see at all out of a scrip that was three years old........

Getting old is a bitch. Oh well.......

I used to wear glasses, but I couldn't stand them. I will forever be a contact lens user.

...I'll tell you what. I'll close my right eye and feel your pain for approximately 15 seconds.

I just had a complete eye exam, including a visual fields test. I started taking this drug called Plaquenil, to try and help put my Rheumatoid Arthritis in remission. Unfortunately, it can screw with the eyes, so I have to get eye exams every 6 months now. I don't wear glasses, and I hope I don't have to, but it may happen. Both my parents wear/wore glasses, and I seem to be getting some heriditary diseases from my parents.

I hope you don't break or lose the new pair of glasses.

I know the feeling, I went to Spain and both the screws came out and got lost. How am I supposed to find them when the lense falls out? Anyway I had to go for a couple of weeks without proper vision.
Felt like a superhero when I got them repaired though.

After all it was just a momentary lapse so I'd look at it as a way to see things from a different perspective

Now 'ol sailor dog here can only imagine your suffering since the only thing that's ever covered my eyes are a good pair of shades.

Glad to hear you're back to seeing where you're going though: I can only imagine what it must be like for all the kids in the neighborhood to watch old dedbr careening about trying to find his bearings...

I had to wear glasses back in second grade and after only 2 months I went back for another eye exam and the doctor said 'my eyes had fixed themselves.' Yes, I know it sounds incredibly weird but I could see crystal clear and I passed the test with flying colors. I am color blind though

I don't wear glasses, but I've had some blind moments. I live in the bright ass deserts, and just that alone has made me basically blind for short amounts of time.

For example, one day I was driving around, and the sun was so bright that it made me literally blind. I managed to pull over before I couldn't see anything, and I had to wait about 10 minutes before I could see again.

Can't relate to this at all, I have 26/20 vision in one eye, and 20/20 in the other. The weird thing is that both my parents and my sister wear glasses. W00t for the good vision gene I somehow snagged.
