I know how fortunate I was to have an epidural available. My mother told me horror stories about when I was born in a Naval hospital.

No doubt! I know some men that thought they were going to die passing a kidney stone.

I just could not imagine the pain you were forced to choose from. Getting a large needle stuck in your spinal cord or tearing your vagina.

I also had to have an episiotomy, so I didn't tear either. I didn't feel it when they cut me, though, because they did it after the epidural.

**Episiotomy is a procedure where the skin between the vagina and the anus (the perineum) is cut. It is done occasionally to enlarge the vaginal opening so that a baby can be more easily delivered.

Damn, that hurts just thinking about it. Did they have to put a lot of stitches in you? What was the problem? Was your baby's head too big or your vagina too small?

I didn't feel anything because they did it after I received the epidural. I was fortunate. I know other women that had to get local anesthetic there because they did not get the epidural. In either case, the woman doesn't feel the incision.

Apparently, I was too small to get her out. Even after the episiotomy, they had to put a suction device on my daughter's head, and pull her out.

if I may give my humble opinion as somebody who will never have to give birth to a kid, and probably won't have a kid either way, I think your biggest responsibility for the next few years is not smoking weed while you look after your baby boy/girl.

I mean, weed's great but it shouldn't be around kids...

Could you feel them tugging on your baby's head with that suction cup? I am getting some very bizarre visuals thinking about this. Was it just the doctor pulling or what? I bet you were bleeding everywhere.
