Default I need help quiting

I'm turning 14 on sep 8,
and i'm planning on quitting weed.

Thanks to everything and everyone,
I've decided that it's just fucking with me,
and i really don't need it.
but i want it
and it's seems that it's just so easy to have a bowl,
and I'm not sure how i'm going to quit

any advice?

**yeah, i'm aware that I didn't spell quitting properly in the title**so shhh.

Also wondering is it normal to not be able to sleep easily?
...like...
It feels like I don't go to sleep.
Threw out the night I feel like I just nap for an hour
and then wake up again...

Quitting is not very tough. Find a hobby. Start playing an instrument. Read a book (Catch-22). Go see a few movies (you're bound to have extra cash lying around).

It's not very tough, although it may prove difficult for you, as you're only quitting because you let a bunch of strangers influence your decisions, and you have no fundamental desire to stop.

If it REALLY up to me, I wouldn't be quitting...
"I would be killing me lungs"? and "stopping myself from growing"?
I would just drive myself up the wall wanting and trying to remember what it's like being sober?.
And yes, yes it is tough for anyone.
Right now I'm asking to know if anyone could offer me REALLY helpful advice not just find a hobby and start playing an instrument.
It's not like I don't have a hobby...
It's more like I have one, and it won't stop me from doing weed...
neither will playing an instrument.

and thanks for cmnting, but
clearly none of the
potheads on this site can help me,
i'm just being an idiot, and I don't even know what
I'm doing anymore.
so goodbye.

Quitting for an addict of a substance can be very time consuming and frustrating, but you'll be glad to know there is help out there. Check out www.marijuana-addict.net for a forum of people that are experiencing the same thing. You're not alone, and you've taken a crucial first step in determining that you need help to control your usage.

so goodbye.
you're right; we can't help you. especially if the only advice we give (get a hobby, go outside, etc) is the only advice that will work. I don't want to sound cheesy, but it's completely up to you to quit, if that's what you want to do (and I think you should).

So ask yourself some questions:
What do you normally do when you smoke weed? Is it when you're sitting around with nothing to do? Is it when you go outside?

Do you live in a big city? The country? Spend some time outside. Do your friends smoke weed? Can you make them stop?

You need to examine your habits very closely and start to ELIMINATE the habits that lead to smoking weed. Got too much time on your hands? Well, damn, here comes that "hobby" word again. If you have other things to do, then I don't understand why it would be difficult to quit!

Personally, whenever I decide to take a break for a few months, I don't change any habits at all. I normally go outside for a walk when I smoke weed. When I quit, I just go for a walk without the weed.

Last year I took a three month break and I continued to hang out with my smoking buddies. I would even go out on the porch with them and lend them my pipe. They'd get all baked and I would just pretend that I was smoking... sounds cheesy but it worked.

Good Luck! Please let us know how it goes.

The truth is, you don't need any special advice about quitting. Marijuana is not an addictive drug. When you quit you have nothing pushing you to start up again but your own desire to keep smoking. If you have trouble with self-control, the advice you've been given already (find something to distract yourself) is the only advice that would be of use.

I've quit any number of times, sometimes for years at a time. It's no big deal. You decide to do it and you do it.

Work out. I started that, to cut back a bit, and it has been working for me so far.

I got me a membership at a gym, so thats less money I have lying around for pot. I actually enjoy the feeling you get after working out. Sure your sweaty, but your muscles feel so good afterwards, and it really feels like youve accomplished something

I can see how it would be hard to quit, many of us enjoy smoking weed. But that is where the line has to be drawn, at enjoy. Once that statement changes to "Many of us dont have much fun without being high", the line has been crossed.

I would suggest you brush up on your studies, school is in, right? Or you could jut cut back bit by bit, hit by hit. Buy less, smoke less...

As for "killing your lungs" or "stunting your growth", marijuana, does neither... Of course inhaling the fumes produced from burning plant matter will not be good for your lungs, but marijuana does nothing close to killing them...
