im starting to stress out im not gonna lie. Im so low on cash right now and i went to get storm shutter costs today and it will cost 4 GRAND just to get the appropriate material. I dont even have a functioning car right now so its one or the other. Guess I gotta cross my fingers that it wont hit here, although its currently looking like it..

That was hurricane Charley. That storm caused over $20,000.00 damage to our home, and we lost three 50 foot trees too. We also had no power for almost 2 weeks. It was a living nightmare. To top it all off, we had just bought this house 6 months before Charley damaged it.

I took a walk out to the front of our neighborhood where there is a crew of about 20 guys with heavy equipment clearing debris. They had the storm sewer grates off and were clearing them by hand mostly. Pulling branches and garbage out and putting them into dump trucks. There was a deputy standing there, his car's lights on warning drivers of the crews, and I asked how things were going. He said they were scrambling to clear storm drains since there was so much debris they think they'll be clogged if another storm hits, he doubted they'd get through town before Ike gets here. He was saying if we get more than 4-5 inches of rain it'll be Fay all over again. I don't wish a hurricane on anyone else, but I don't want this one to hit , it's too soon....

Uhm... This will be my first time living on the coast during hurricane season. I believe a hurricane will be coming up here to the Carolinas by tomorrow morning. I don't really know. All I know is that there is a hurricane party at a friends place, and I'll probably get to high to care what the fuck is going on.

My concerns really are that, I live less than a mile away from the beach, and I am renting a house with no hurricane insurance at the moment(I'm not 100% sure, the chick who I'm renting it from is a little old Chinese woman who stands just under 5 feet. And every time I call her that I dropped off my rent, she says, "Ohw yesh... Mista Tewrentity"(Trenity).So thats the only thing I understand..)so fuck it. Right?

Hey Freedom, Hopefully Hanna will keep breaking up like it is now and you'll get some much needed rain. I could be wrong but last time I noticed I thought I saw the carolinas were pretty down on the drought index. Good luck up there. I find being pretty stoned during a hurricane makes me stress out a lot less
