| It's not what you think However, it's a pretty cool story. The past few days, my blood pressure has been shooting up and giving me some chest pains. Finally, yesterday, I had some terrible chest pain, my face began to become numb, mostly on the left side, along with the left arm, and a not-too-bad shortness of breath So, I called my dad and he drove me to the hospital. Before I left, I measured my blood pressure and it was 145-150/100-ish. On the way down, I puffed on a small joint I had because it tends to lower my blood pressure. By the time I got to the hospital, my heart rate was only slightly less (it was anywhere between 100 and 140 at times), but my blood pressure had dropped 20-30 points, which was terrific. I was able to breathe a little better, but the pain was still there to a great degree. It wasn't made worse, but it wasn't better either. Yes, I do realize it was somewhat reckless to light up a joint at that point in time, but in doing so, I was able to lower my blood pressure and calm down a bit. When the doctor asked me about it, he told me he wouldn't recommend anyone doing that, but it was, to some degree, a very helpful aid in quickly reducing my BP, and if we weren't in Georgia, he'd prescribe it as an alternative to more harmful medications. After a little analysis, he administered some painkillers and anticoagulants and I was insanely relieved. After some tests, which included a CT scan and ultrasound of the heart, he told me my heart was fine and that wasn't the problem, which soothed my ears greatly. However, I have a small clot on the very side of my chest that was causing the trouble it seemed. I'm on blood thinners and aspirin once daily now for a while, and I'm very, very glad to be home and very blessed to have this wonderful plant. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, either, but it's always lowered my BP to some degree, plus, it makes a cool story to tell. Now I've just got to rip these sticky bastards off my chest ![]() |

| Fish oil tablets are supposed to be good for high blood pressure with lowering cholestrol and stuff like that, helps with the arteries and stuff. You can buy them in a health store. They are tablets with the oil inside them so you don't taste the fish oil or anything when you swallow them but you might taste it a little if you burp like a half hour later or something. I don't have high blood pressure problems or anything but I take 2 of the tablets at breakfast lunch or dinner. You can take up to 6 a day but I usually just take 2 with a meal maybe once a day. When my dad and his brothers and sisters were kids they didn't have it in tablets, my grandfather would make them take a tea-spoon of that stuff raw. Good to hear that your heart is fine. |
