I'm at college and there is a smoke detector in my ROOM...what can u do to be able to smoke in my room?

Blow the smoke out your window.

You could tape some plastic over the smoke detector. Seal it good.

Try and take out the battery. I mean prolly not the safest thing, but like they are gonna know and I'm sure you could pry that bastard open.

Keep in mind, it may beep(once or twice) if you take the battery out.

You will not set the smoke detector off unless you try. I've blown full hits directly at my smoke detector... just out of curiosity. It didn't start beeping.

I'm sure different manufacturers have different sensitivities for their detectors, but from my experience it takes a lot of smoke to set one off.

Being a co-op student... I'm in a new place with a new smoke detector every four months (including dorm rooms), and I blazed in all of 'em with the windows closed.

If you blow the smoke far enough away, it will dissipate before it has the opportunity to upset the smoke alarm. Just don't smoke directly underneath it... bottom line: the biggest danger is the smell, not the alarm.

Do it during the day with some music playing. Almost positive no one would hear it or care it they heard it beep once or twice.

Don't fuck with the smoke detectors! They can't detect the smoke anyway and are typically tamper resistant by law. Just go for it. Put a fan facing out the window, smoke near it and allow it to take your hits and excess smoke and blow it out the window. Put a towel under the door if you're really being ambitious. This set up works like a charm if you're trying to be inconspicuous with the sound of the lighter too. Spray some fabreeze around or whatever and let it be with the fan running for a while to circulate air. You're all set man.

Try smoking a cigarette/burning incense and see what happens, (just to make sure it isn't a super-sensitive smoke detector.) if nothing happens you'd be fine.

From my experience weed smoke doesn't really set off smoke detectors, we smoke at my friends house a lot, the alarm never goes off, eve when we've smoke a good 1/2 ounce. However as soon as you forget about the pizza you stuck in the oven it starts beeping like mad.
