Im 18 and still stay with my parents, this past week and all of next week I am house sitting for family friends while they're in Europe. Its awesome, they have a nice big house with a bunch of cool stuff and its just given me a glimpse of what life will be like after i move out. Now dont get me wrong my parents and i have a wonderful relationship, and get along great but who doesnt like to be independent and on thier own. Now i just cant wait untill i actually get to buy my own appt and live on my own.....anyone else feel this way?

Also keep in mind that your freedom rests on your ability to be a responsible self-motivated person. Independence is great, but it means more work for you.

But yeah.The sense of freedom is nice. The last time my mom went out of town, both my neighbors left to so I had three houses to be responsible for

I had a chance to move out about a month ago but I ended up turning it down. But it's all good because like over the past month, it's kinda been affirming to me that I made the right choice. I'd still be open to it but a whole lot of things would have to change in order for it to be positive, and I don't think it's gonna happen anytime soon.

But I'm 19, and I spend almost 60 hours a week in school/work. I spend almost the entire rest with friends or going to baseball games. I'll move out at the end of the school year most likely.

It's not bad at all living with your parents as long as you're not stuck...make sure to always be grateful for their house while you live there, even if you're trying to get out!

If I was you I would stay with your parents as long as possible. Work hard and accumulate some money in and invest in some sort of an investment account or something that can bring you in money each month, and once you can pay for the very basics (food) by the money you gain from the investment, and all the rest by your work, and comfortable leeway you should move out. It is great living with your parents, but once you can live comfortably on your own, you should.
