i'am on zoloft and i smoked a few days ago for like my third time and i had the worst trip. i didn't know what was happening to me so i thought i was dying, but i'am over that. so my question is if you trip does it have any negative effects on the body like make you retarded or something.. i'am pretty sure weed isn't suppose to do that so what are the consequences if you get really weird trips? like for 20 seconds everyone i was looking at was in x-ray no lie

Nah idk, I doubt that it has any permenant effects if that's what you're asking, though I'm not sure getting high is enjoyable when that happens.

I've never experienced anything in the area of seeing people in x-ray vision while toking, I'd like to smoke what you're smoking.

Be prepared to hear people saying they don't believe what you say you saw, basically because many of us smoke/have smoked high quality weed on a daily basis and have never encountered things like that.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and believe you.. and I suggest you don't combine these two substances again if the "trip" made you feel as if you were dying.
I don't know much about Zoloft, but I wouldn't think that combining any medication with another drug would be condoned by many.

To answer your question, I don't think you would ever become "retarded" from smoking only once while on Zoloft, if this is what you mean by "tripping".
Marijuana gets you high... and often you'll find yourself tuning out of "reality" and may freak out and define it as tripping. If this is what you mean by tripping then the negative effects include those that come with smoking marijuana in the first place.
(Read the smoking myths if you're curious).

But being stoned and feeling your heart rate increase, not knowing what's going on, etc... likely won't cause any negative effects on your body unless you have a prior heart condition or another untypical condition.

Although, I could see how your body would not agree with continuous combinations of marijuana & Zoloft. The body is strong, but fragile at the same time.
Your best bet is to not test it.

I think some of the "bad trips" out there are more related to how much you enjoy actually getting high.
The Chinese phrase for being stoned translates roughly into "seeing demons".
Ok. Probably not fun if you don't like the brain exploration deal.
Pot isn't for everybody. That doesn't mean someone who dislikes the effects is uncool or a wuss. It's cooler to say : "Tried it. Hated it!" than go along with peer pressure to smoke, if that's what it is.
