| so the past eight or so nights, I keep waking up every 2-3 hours feeling 100% refreshed and I have to force myself back to sleep knowing it won't be long before I'm awake again. What the fuck is up with this?? I've tried blazing before bed, I've tried chills music before bed, I've tried staying up till I fall asleep with the light on. Nothing works. What to do? I want my sleep back. |

| Read a book before you go to sleep. Turn off all electronics or distractions and give your mind an hour to wind down from the day. I used to have sleeping problems, meditating works wonders if you stick with it long enough. Maybe you should do more during the day? ![]() Of course I don't know your daily activities, but I always found that after a long day of physical/mental work I slept so much better than days I sat around doing nothing.

| i don't know man, i have to sleep 10+ hours a night to feel good for the whole day. and i sometimes can't fall asleep for 3-4 hours even if i feel dead tired when i lay down. i usually have to smoke a pipe or take sleeping pills to fall asleep easily. try some like time release sleeping pills. like ambien cr, i don't know if you need a prescription for that or not though.

| air-wick: I've been thinking it might be the bed...I'll have to do an experiment. ricknosnhoj: I'm scared of taking sleeping pills, but if it gets worse I might try it. mushroom man: I read before bed every night (The Shadow Rising, book 4 of The Wheel of time series by Robert Jordan...AMAZING series IMO) and I'll get really sleepy after an hour or so, so I'll sleep, but then my eyes pop open 2-3 hours later. I've been pretty lazy lately, just studying and stuff, but I get in a bit of activity everyday. Take my dog on a few good walks everyday and such, as well as karate twice a week, walk to the subway etc. Maybe I'll try jogging with the dog or something instead... thanks for the suggestions! |

| Get a memory foam topper, those help tons of troubled sleepers on a low budget. Look around on the web and ebay, you might find a good 3" thick one for 100 bucks. I got a 4" and I have a hard time getting out of bed. |

| OH I completely forgot! Try taking melatonin, it's a natural sleep aid that occurs in your body. It helps set up a more regular sleep cycle. I've been using it for a while and it works great for me. I've also noticed that I have more vivid dreams when I take it. |
