So I'm going to college in North Dakota, and I've lived out here with a friend of mine in an apartment since august, and our lease is supposed to go to next august. I've been having problems, some personal, school related, and money. I won't be able to make rent after january, unless I get a job. I've been trying, but it's hard in a town saturated with college kids who only need work during the school year. I'm not even motivated enough to try any more because of some other problems. The semester ends in 2 weeks, before I would need to pay januarys rent.
I can't just move out because of the lease, but I figure if I got evicted right after finals it would all be good, for me at least. So I had an idea after I smoked a pipe - possessing drugs or paraphernelia on the property is grounds for eviction. If I sent an anonymous letter to the office, saying "apartment #420 (not my number, but close haha) has been smoking pot" they could search my apartment, just find my pipe and tell me to leave! The worst that would happen to me is a paraphernelia ticket. My roommate could live with his brother or this other kid, and I wouldn't really care what he thought or what happened to him. He's part of the problem.

I've thought this out and don't see any reason why I shouldn't do it, but I would like some of your opinions. Would it be worth it?

Wouldn't they call the cops? No offense, but that is the most insensible idea I ever heard.
I dont know what to tell you, wreck the place? Thats grounds for eviction. However thats a lame thing to do, considering your wrecking someones future apartment.

Yeah, I don't know what to tell you. Your idea wouldn't be worth it though.

edit: and just because your not on good terms with someone, doesn't mean you should fuck him over to get your way.

Actually, I've already wrecked my bedroom door. Drunken fight ended up with a couple holes through it, I know I'll have to pay for it. And I know they might call the cops, if I don't have any weed in my apartment the worst they could give me is a paraphernalia ticket and evict me.

A criminal record, however minor, can have far-reaching implications further down the road. Unless this ticket would just blend in onan already colorful record, theres no way I'd do it. Your future is much more important the the present situation
