| I havent posted much on here but I have looked around a LOT lately. I started smoking this spring with my girlfriend (she did it forever and got me into it). After a summer of smoking and such there was a nasty breakup. I started smoking alone to ease the pain and began smoking recreationally because i discovered the joy it can bring. I was always very smart about it since I saw two older brothers allow it to influence them in undesirable ways. I did my homework and never got close to caught. I was also very mature about it (I am only in college, 20 and still living at home) I tried never to do it in the house. I started to when the folks were out of town and now that its winter have been struggling to hide it. I always said if I get cought or the ask I will be honest. Tonight it happened. My mom knocked on my door about 5 hits into what was to be my last bowl until after finals. The question was "Are you smoking in there?" I opened the door and said yes. I confessed everything and we had an incredible talk. She promised not to tell my dad (who kicked one brother out of the house for just this reason) if I promised to get rid of everything tomorrow. I dont know what to do with any of this stuff because none of my friends even smoke (or those who did are in similar situations). I will be getting rid of everything (but my $105, once used bong) tomorrow. Since I promised to quit I will do just that. My goal is a complete detox of my system, I will even be self testing. At that point I will look at my life and determine if our beloved Mary Jane has a place in it. It is going to be tough, and this forum will surely replace any intense cravings I have. If anyone actually read this thank you, it was more for my sake than to seek your condolences but I thourghouly appreciate it. Now I am off to get some pleasure from this very mind numbing high. Office Space and then a solid nights rest. |

| Hey man, chances are most of us have been in similar situations. It's good that you have the maturity to step back and examine your situation, and the discipline to follow up on your decision. Here's a toke for you and good you're staying around the forum. Lots of people don't.

| Your making a good descision that will pay off in the long run. Its really mature of you. You still have many more years of your life to smoke weed. Enjoy sobriety now, and weed when you're in a situation you can afford to smoke.

| Like you, I quit smoking at home while going to college after getting caught, so I completely understand your decision. It will also make it easier for you to find a job when you graduate, because you won't be stressed over getting drug tested. I'm with Homemade - congrats on the maturity to wait until you're in a position to enjoy it!

| Well its good that your quiting and i wish you luck. I think that you only live life once and to enjoy it and if that means quiting then again best of luck. --Not sure this makes sence.

| I am 19 and also live at home while attending college...if I were to get caught (or my dad suddenly care..because he HAS to know)..I would quit too...I already cut down for numerous reasons. Sorry for the partially bad situation, but congrats on doing the right thing. |
