My friend suggested the other day that I should make a Pop-Bottle Bong.
I'm considering doing this seeing how I don't have the cash for a real one and no stores around me carry papers.

I'm wondering if this is anyway bad for my health because everything is plastic and poorly made.

It should be safe as long as heat(flame) doesn't come in contact with the plastic.

It works really well too. Thats what i usually smoke out of. It shouldn't hurt you at all.

Make a portable gravity bong. Its better.

Take a bottle and get a bowl piece or a small socket and drill the cap. Put your bowl here.
Put a pencil sized hole at the bottom of the bottle.
Pack bowl, Fill bottle with water, Cover bottom hole with finger, Light weed, Slowly allow the water to leave the hole. Now inhale all the smoke, now your high.

I actually swear by Bottle bongs.

They are very inconspicuous from a distance,

They are easily disposable,

And dont require much space to carry around (depending if youve thrown away the bottle, all you have left is a small stem to worry about)

What you can do is get a trumpet mouth piece. You heat the end of the piece until it is very hot, then jam it into the side of the bottle, about 2-3 inches up from the bottom. This will ensure a tighter seal. Allow the stem to point in a downwards fasion, Add water to the bottle, just below the hole you made. Put a small screen in the mouthpiece part of the trumpet piece.

Add some herbs to the mouthpiece part of the trumpet piece. Suck from the Bottles neck while igniting herbs, once the bottle becomes thick with smoke, pull out trumpet mouthpiece from hole (caution: hot), take a deeper inhale.

Repeat if necessary.

If you consider yourself innovative and crafty, and understand the principal of how a bong works, a trumpet mouthpiece is not needed. Many items work excellently. The sky is the limit.

I'd never really thought of using a trumpet mouthpiece before Nice...but then again, how many of us just have a trumpet lying around?

I really want to make a more permanent bong out of a glass Sobe bottle some time. Anybody have a good method for drilling through the glass so I can get the stem in there?

You dont need a diamond bit to drill through glass.

sure it would be easier,

but any bit will do.

Slow and steady wins the race here. Let the weight of the drill do its work.

Do not apply any pressure. Even towards the last part when you think youve been doing it for way too long. It does take a while, but if you keep minimal pressure, you have a better chance at success.

Lubricate well. Water will do excellently.

The best method IMO is to submerge your glass bottle in water, just so the water line is barely above the area of the glass where you want to drill. then take your drill bit and start drilling it while it is under the water. Make sure you dont submerge your drill. (ouch)

Again, I stress the minimal pressure on the glass, while keeping it lubricated well.

Also, Slow and steady wins the race, that also comes into play with the drill speed. Dont crank your speed way up. Too much friction.
