OK. this is gonna sound crazy. Ive been clean for nearly 2 months before i smoked some weed 2 days ago. the experience was fairly horrifying, like nothing i had ever experienced. im pretty sure it was a heart attack. i could be and hope that i am wrong. but signs of a heart attack are tightness/pressure in chest, pain in left arm, and a stiff neck. i showed All 3 of those signs. i just thank God i survived. the pressure in my chest lasted for over 24 hours. throughout the day pain shot up through my left arm a few times. i just tried to stay calm. Any thoughts on this?? Thank God im alive thats really all I can say. I always thought weed couldnt kill, but now im starting to have second thoughts. i think what happened was my heart started beating too hard and too fast for too long, and i possibly messed it up. today im feeling better thank God and hopefully with time my heart will heal and be back to normal.

it sounds also like you could have had a panic attack. I have panic attacks (not from weed, but from anxiety) and I have the same symptons...feels like I'm having a heart attack. I'm sorry it happened to ya, that sucks. Weed should be enjoyable.

it should be enjoyable, and always was. i hope ur right. this happened thursday night. when i got up friday morning my heart felt like it was replaced with lead or something. i felt amazing though! my mood was great, but hindered due to the heart thing.

How old are you? Weed has been known to increase heart rate (correct me if im wrong here ) What do you do, do you exercise, does your family have a history of heart attack? I'm serious about this because CA is no joking matter you really should have gone and seen a doctor

im actually very athletic. im 17 and im about 5'10" 148-150lbs not sure.i have a body fat of like 6%(used navy standard measurement) and i train in Tae Kwon Do and Muay thai. I regularly lift weights and exercise. thats why i couldnt understand why this happened. I dont think theres any history of heart attack in my family since no one has had one...

Gale, While it is possible for marijuana to someitme cause tachycardia(rapid heart rate) I have not ever heard of anyone having an MI(Myocardial Infarction) or heart attack. Anxiety attacks are not uncommon either and exhibit many of the same symptomology as MI's do. I am assuming CA is your qabbreviation for Cardiac Arrest, though in the medical community it is Cancer. True if he continues to exhibit symptoms of cardiac disease or has familial history he should consult his physician concerning this matter. Remeber: you can tell your physician about your marijuana smoking, it is priviledged information and he can tell no one by law. If you are in a state where medical marijuana is legal then you really have nothing to worry about.

i know right?? i mean i was always for the use of cannabis now im like...wtf...so do u guys think i should give it up altgether and not risk this happening again or do u think this is just a co-inky-dink
whats also weird is that i dont smoke that much. when i do, its only like 3-5 hits and thats it.

I doubt you will get a heartattack just from being high. I can see a "panic attack" but not a heart attack. Maybe take it a little easier if you do choose to smoke again. I wouldn't give it up completely just because of 1 bad experience. Maybe you were uncomfortable with the environment around you and felt something was wrong. It's up to you if you want to do it again or not, but I wouldn't let 1 bad experience hold me back from ever doing it again. We've all had a few bad experiences one time or another, but it shouldn't change your life.

i seriously doubt it was the environment because i was at my best friends house and when i smoke i smoke with him. i was enjoying the high until about maybe 1/2 to an hour into it. then i just felt like my chest had fire coursing through it. i think it was because i was because ive been clean for a long time and my body was no longer used to it maybe and five hits was too much ?
