Default How life can be taken so easily...

Well, Sunday night was a crazy one for me, but not in a good way as you may be able to tell by the title. It was around 9:30-10:00 PM and I was driving a friend home from my house when I saw something odd out of the corner of my eye. A woman standing close to the middle of an intersection. Then I saw an SUV. It swerved to miss her but still ended up hitting her, destroying the car's front headlight and bumper. He had to have been going 40 MPH when he hit her. I was so shaken up that all I could do was pull to the side of the road and call 911. I would later find out that she died at the hospital due to injuries from the collision. It may sound odd, but this has really been a life changing experience for me. The woman was 54 which is close to my mom's age, so it just made me think that that could have been anyone's mother or spouse. I came home and gave my mom a huge hug that night.

Anyway, I just thought I would share my experience with you guys. Maybe it will inspire you to go and give your loved one's a hug as well.

That's rough man, witnessing events like that really can change someone.

My senior year in highschool I got into a major car accident with two friends and was certain I would have died if I wasn't wearing my seatbelt, not long after a kid in my class was killed in a head-on collision while riding with his friend.

It's scary to think about all the people I know personally that have died in accidents before they reached the age of 21.

Even in the first grade, when I still had velcro shoes, a kid in my class was shot and killed by his father.

I just stay positive, have fun, and hope for the best.

that does suck man, recently in my town there has been two deaths and my brothers friend is in a coma their trying to keep her alive for now, luckily for me i dont personally know either of the two that died the most recently was a kid who was only 19 most of my friends knew him i did not, just last year a kid shot both his sisters his dad and his step mom then killed himself, its hard to think the the girls that were twins were only 16 and went to my school, scary really that this stuff happens with no warning

When I was ten years old a girl in my fifth grade class was struck by lightning after school at the end of the year. She died the next day. We weren't close, but she was well liked, and it was my first real experience with grief and real suffering. Since then, I've had one of my best friends murdered by her tweeker ass boyfriend, and another killed in a drunk driving accident. It really is mind blowing. It's terrifying for me to think of how young I am, how many people I have already lost, and how many I will lose in the future.

I got my first reality check concerning death early in life. Starting in kindergarden, I had a crush on a female classmate of mine. Later, that same year, she was diagnosed with cancer. She attended school with me sporadically (due to her condition and resulting treatments) untiol 3rd grade. I came to school shortly after Valentine's day (I'd gotten her candy and left it in her desk...I wanted to know how she liked it, so I was eager to see her that day)...and I was told she had passed away. I lost my first love, and one of my best friends, that day.

That is actually very ironic. In my town, a few months back..i also saw someone get hit by a car..and die..it is a life altering experience..to realise that everyone is human.
