I normally won't take a bowl with me as I find it a terrible idea to have anything with you that can't be 'disposed' of if neccessary but I've done a blunt cruise every now and again. I like to normally find extremely quiet back roads (there are a few around me that just loop around and I've never even seen another single car) and just jam out to some tunes and smoke a blunt. Normally when we're done we'll continue the loop or chill somewhere till its safe to hit the mainroads.

It is a somewhat stupid idea but like I said I've done it. Just make sure you find some roads that don't have much traffic on them and don't get too distracted by friends and just generally being stoned. While it's not as bad as driving drunk I still try not to drive when I'm really high and I only do the blunt cruise occasionally on the back roads when I'm sick of just being high and staring at the tv or the same 4 walls in my apartment.

While you might think it's all fun and games now, this is how you increase your chances of getting arrested.

You'll be much more happy when you can close the door to your own place after letting your friends in and then rolling the blunts.

Seriously though, if you've never been arrested, driving with blunts is a great way to pop that cherry.

yeah im on the fence about this topic...i mean...i take responsibility for my actions and i know its NOT responsible to drive and smoke...but there is nothin better on a long road trip than jammin to some music while passin a joint among friends....

I feel that if a few new pot smokers asked me if it's okay to smoke/drive.. I would definitely tell them to avoid doing it, even though I do it quite often.

I guess you could call me a hypocrite in that light, but I truly feel that I possess the capability of smoking and driving (especially joints) and I feel that some others (especially new smokers) definitely do NOT possess this same ability.

I obey all traffic laws and keep my eyes on the road WITH my seatbelt fastened.

I live in the pretty isolated country-side and so I routinely roll joints with the direct intent to hop in the car and go for a cruise...mind you, when I smoke and drive I usually go about 50-60 Km/hr (I'm from Canada)... relax and keep my eyes on the road while listening to music.

If I smoke with friends then they just pass me the joint, or hold the pipe/lung to my mouth (NOT recommended ), ... and usually I just do the inhaling part.. keeping my eyes on the road, etc.

I prefer to drive with joints as you can easily swallow them if cops pull you over; although this has never happen... knock on wood....

I feel that if you're attentive to the road as you're driving, don't allow your friends to be complete animals in the car, and come PREPARED for the POTENTIAL of a cop pulling you over... then smoking/driving shouldn't be a major issue.

Besides, smoking cigarettes are allowed... those are just as distracting (physically) as joints. Daily coffee-drinkers who haven't had their morning cup and are on the road towards Tim Horton's are also likely to be more distracted/less attentive that if they were sober, yet this is legal.

This has been argued before, but marijuana produces mind-altering effects (with varying degrees) similar to those of caffeine/lack of caffeine, depression, sleep-deprivation, while behind the wheel...

If you're able to control these effects and remain aware of your surroundings as you drive, I don't see a problem with driving/smoking, as long as you're accepting of potential consequences.

the only way i see it as acceptable is if you have all the windows open and a designated driver. hopefully he wont get high off the smoke you exhale.

The only way I see judging someone doing this as acceptable is to know what you are talking about.
There is no such thing as a contact high.
