So, here's my story:

I've been smoking pot for about 6 1/2 years (on and off). I got pregnant back in December of '07 and ended up kicking my habbit to the curb until I had my child. I ended up going 4 more months without bothering to touch it, mainly because I had some weird fear that I would be randomly selected as a new parent to be drug tested (yea don't ask what gave me that idea, I was new to the parenting thing lol).

Surprisingly, I was actually proud of myself for quitting something I loved so much .... until a friend came and joked around with me about my pothead days and said it shouldn't hurt for me to smoke it every so often, reminding me that I could use some relaxation from tending to a baby 24/7. One with a small case of colic, at that.

I've been smoking again for about 2 months, and it's back to being an everyday habbit. I'm not stupid, so I don't smoke around my son. I don't even smoke it in the house. Sometimes, I just feel a little guilty for having my husband sit with him while I step out to smoke one, even though I come back in feeling better than I did and more in the mood to be around my son. My doctor feared I was starting to go into post-partum depression until I started smoking again, and he noticed my mood had went up and I seemed more content.

Am I a bad parent for continuing to do this with a newborn in my life? I'm just curious. I know a lot of people look down on parents for smoking pot while raising a newborn at the same time.

Do you think it would be something you'd continue to do after having one?
