Stuff like this definitely should never happen, nor happen this often. Three separate incidents in different parts of the country within a week of each other. Between the trigger happy cops and the drug cartels, the war on drugs is killing more people it saving.

The thing about many of these reports are they are INCREDIBLY one-sided. The police cannot and will not comment due to confidentiality laws and internal policies, but yet every tom dick and harry can be quoted as saying this guy was a wonderful, inncoent college student who couldn't have POSSIBLY done anything to get himself shot. In all seriousness, we have no clue what ahppened in that apartment. What we do know is that this guy was well-thought of by his neighbors.... which really means we know nothing.

In the Oregon case, a couple, who had previously been raided on drug charges, responded to the police knocking with a shotgun, all but asking to be shot. When people bust through the door shouting "POLICE" the last thing you should do is grab a gun. The cops want to go home and the end of their shift, and will take whatever action they feel is necessary to do so when confronted woith an armed suspect who presents a clear and present danger.

I'm not saying the shootings are or are not justified. What I am saying, howewver, is that I wasn't there, and I don't pseronally know how things went down. The only info to base any judgement on is that of people sympathetic to the "victims" or "suspects" which may opr not be accurate. We have absolutely no way of knowing how honest these people are, and I refuse to cast judgement when I know so little about how things actually went down.

its easy for you to just sit there and say shootings like this shouldnt happen, but you need to put yourself in the cops shoes. your executing your search warrant, you have your gun to the ready, and you dont know how this is gonna go down. that alone is enoguh stress to deal with. than you burst in probably pulsing with adrenaline, and the slightest movement triggers your instinct to pull the trigger. you cant help it. a sudden flash of light, a sudden move, a sudden noise. in a stressful situation like that, anything can set you off. how well do you think you could handle that? cops are human and they make mistakes. and the bottom line is, none of his friends were there when this took place. how do they know what went down? all they have is bias for their friend, who we have no knowledge about. you cant count what they say.

Grand Valley is really close to my house and I have a lot of friends that go there. The student body is pretty pissed about it and rightfully so.
