| Pretty simple question By "control" you i dont mean addictive but in the sense that, its your no. 1 priority in life. For example, I can make plans with some of my friends a week in advanced, and i can call them the day were suppose to hangout to hear "Im sorry yo but i got invited to go to __________'s house to smoke, sorry" And also another example i can use is, Its all you talk about. I can be with the same group of friends, just talking about anythign and they can make the conversation lead to smoking. Its not bad to talk about sometimes but it gets annoying if thats all you talk about. What are your opinions on this? How important is weed in your life? Does it control you? Any stories you wish to share about friends that you may have that are like this. btw, i know some of you may say "get new friends" but thats not an option, because besides that there amazing people. | I used to be like that when I was younger and dumber. Now I have priorities in life that include my family, my girlfriend, my dogs, and just the people around me and my everyday life. I think when your younger and smoke all the time it's like that's the greatest thing in the world for some people and that's all they want to do. Now when I smoke its not to be high all the time just for the sake of being high. I do it to relax and have a good time. I used to get high or try to be high 24/7 and I realized there is a point where no one remembers you by your name anymore they just remember you as that stoner kid. Now I am just Krista not the stoner kid cause I am who I am and not what I do. |

If weed controls you or your life, you need to make some changes to your way of thinking. Edit: Sorry! I read that wrong. They're ditching you to go smoke? Dump those assholes and make better friends!

| Assuming that you're still in high school, I would call it normal behaviour. I mean when someone discovers something new, especially something as awesome as pot, that tends to be all they talk about. Once your friends have been smoking for awhile they'll talk about it less and less. And your friends blowing you off to go smoke pot are dicks. Breaking plans and then not even inviting you to join their sesh? Fuckin' dicks.

It was inevitable that they should make that claim sooner or later: the logic of their position demanded it. Not merely the validity of experience, but the very existence of external reality, was tacitly denied by their philosophy. The heresy of heresies was common sense. And what was terrifying was not that they would kill you for thinking otherwise, but that they might be right. For, after all, how do we know that two and two make four? Or that the force of gravity works? Or that the past is unchangeable? If both the past and the external world exist only in the mind, and if the mind itself is controllable what then?" |

| I don't recall anything like that happening in my circle, but I remember how "Trying to score" would become the only topic until someone did! I think that's part of it. In high school, scoring some weed was an EVENT. It's this whole new world... First few times you buy off the street, first time you find a reliable dealer... It was all exciting and new so it WAS a pretty common topic. It's so much different now. It's almost like going to the store for beer. If I need some weed, I just go get it. (Thanks to my caregiver!) And even before that, I had enough friends that had weed that it still wasn't like finding a dealer. For me, it no longer seems like a "drug deal". That myistique being gone makes it less of a topic of dicussion. This is how it is for me anyway. I get what you mean tho. I worked with a couple guys who talked about nothing else, and it does get old. |

| If you're own friends don't invite you to smoke sessions, they're not friends! Ask them what's up and why as long as you're not being a mooch you can't tag along.

| I smoke with my high school friends when we're home on the weekends together and such. It certainly is a good time and a topic for conversation mainly about the times and how we smoked not just talking about it in general. We usually talk about any subject possible and I point out how ridiculous they sound. Music, cars/trucks, past memories of good times and anything else can be topics of conversation, but it is never centered on marijuana. We've never made plans and broke them just to smoke, in fact we usually make plans around smoking. For example, we went camping this past weekend and brought some pot, made a camp fire and had ourselves a good time in the woods. Would have been just as fun without some pot, but it definitely made the camp out much more enjoyable. I wouldn't have just sat at home and smoke instead of going camping.
