| So recently I finally came out and told my mom everything about weed, talked to her about it, and realized that it's changed my life much more then I realize. Basically 7 months ago I was a completely different kid. I wore American Eagle and Hollister clothes to school everyday, ate lunch with the coolest crowd, hooked up with/dated the best looking girls, always was the center of attention. Pretty much your average, superficial teenage boy. Then due to a ridiculous rumor about me making my ex break up with Derek, one of my best friends that she was dating, I lost it all.. The group I hung around with had mostly all been friends since elementary and all took the other guys side. I fought a kid that was mine and Derek's best friend because he was being a bitch about the whole thing. Basically after that, severe depression. I was prescribed anti-depressents, but those just tended to make me paranoid and made me brood on everything that was wrong. So I turned to weed about 6 months ago. The changes are insane, I was never happy when I was preppy, your whole life is about drama and parties and trying to keep yourself on the highest podium you can maintain. Now I have stoner friends, and they have thoughts, and their intellectual and deep. The conversations are real!! They like music!! I don't hear fucking T-Pain all the fucking time anymore, they have taste in/can play good music!! I absolutely love it, I met a girl who means the world to me and she's smart, and she's got beliefs and morals and she's just absolutely amazing and unique and special, and beautiful doesn't hurt. I get along better with my parents, my mom and I bond so much, we talk about music, my God.. I never knew my mom loved music. She met Johnny Cash, in 16 years of my life I never had any idea she listened to Johnny Cash. She loves Pink Floyd, some days I'll just sit their for hours and play music for her. I'm usually ripped out of my friggen skull and she knows that, and she's alright with it because she see's the changes, she knows I'm a better person for it. Basically what I'm trying to say is I love Marijuana. It's completely changed my outlook on life, I used to always judge people from how they looked, now I know everyone has a story, and I try my hardest to hear everyones. It's made me appreciate music and just all around, I'm a better person. Sorry this is so long and strung together, but I just wanted to get it all out their and I don't feel very much like editing. Keep toking everyone. ![]() |

| I agree it has changed me considerably. About 4 years ago I used to be somewhat suicidal and had really bad depression but ever since ive started using marijuana I've been so much happier with everything. I do admit it has effected my grades but only due to laziness, not intelligence - Im just too damn lazy/unmotivated to do my homework, but thats it. My relationship with my parents has never really been good, me and my mom fight constantly about stupid shit. And I personally think I need new friends and I'm finding them, some of my current friends are kind of dicks and just druggies. I just need to find good people around here who accept me and that I can connect with. But MJ has given me a brighter outlook on alot of things. ![]()

| I always hated the in crowd. Everyone in HS knew me and most ppl liked me because I could make anyone laugh till tears flowed at any random time. I could have hung out with them but decided to chill with different people who weren't always trying to play little stupid status games that really don't freekin matter. The worst was how they always talk bad about each other behind each others backs, even there "best friends". I always kept quiet when someone left who I didn't like. The only time IMO is it appropriate to talk s*** about someone is when they are standing directly in front of you. |

| In the same way as watermelon..everyone knows me..i can talk to anyone..but...i fuckin' hate them all. Everyone is is so superficial..and thoughtless. I have my group of friends..not "in" but they are my buddies and they are my girls.. i'd do anything for them. And to have that unconditional support is really important, more important than being "in"

| Great stories everyone. It's so true that the "in" crowd is often the worst crowd. My story is very similat to the OP, but i was not quite as popular being a bit of a shy person. It was only when I found a different scene that I opened up and made a lot of friends, some of which I have still, over 20 years later. We were "The Freaks", but that never mattered. The one group outside of our own that we got along with wass the "Stoners". It just seemed that the love of weed gave us a mutual trust of each other. They listened to Floyd and Zep, we listened to goth/punk, but other than that we sort of felt like part of the same group. The other great thing is that your relationship with your Mom is better, and that's AWESOME! Hopefully soon there will be a day when you can both smoke together! Thanks for the story! |

| wow man gz on you getting out of your depression. It's obvious that synthetic piece of shit meds are unsafe and don't always work - while HERBS are natural, always work and completely safe... But yeah, that fake crowd you were with, i know that too well... |

| Glad for you that you found the thing that changed/changes your life. Pot isn't going to change mine a lot, except for relaxation when it's needed. I'm still waiting for ...I don't even know. ![]() but! Watch out for a kind of pothead that I believe nobody really likes; pot fiends! | |

| Yeah, I used to be a shy ass kid in school who had no friends except for the ones I've known since kindergarden, and one of my best friends got into and so did I and I have so much more friends now, but they're nice to me and not all of them are stoners. Marijuana is a gift from God, most unique plant I've ever seen, and it's just awesome. Epically agreed with you. |
