| Very long read, but sorry, I had to get my feelings out. So, last Tuesday my parents busted me for smoking pot. I'm 14 years old, and started smoking back in January. I have plenty of friends that do it, and I used to use it a few times a week. So I was about to go toke up with my friend outside last Tuesday, when I called my mom to ask when she would be home. I told her I was going to go outside, but for some strange reason she told me to wait until she got home to leave the house. So I was looking for something to eat in the pantry (not high), when my mom walked into the house unloading groceries. I told her that I have a 96 in Spanish and Science class. She turned to me and said, "Ok Nic, let me ask you this question, do smart kids smoke pot?". I quickly replied in disbelief and total shock, "What?". She repeated the question and that's when I knew that I was busted. She didn't say anything else so I walked upstairs to my room thinking of how I was caught. I checked my stash spot, and everything was still there. Atleast they didn't find anything on me. Now, the question was, how did I get into trouble? I'm almost positive that someone saw me and my friend walking to the woods (our usual smoke spot) and called/talked to my parents saying that we were going back to the woods and it looked suspicious. My dad texted me later that day and said I was lucky that he had time to cool down and he has to have a big talk with me on an important topic that night. When he came home, we talked about it and him being a lawyer, asked me many questions about it. He was pretty mad, and I got grounded for 2 weeks. My parents both said that they have NEVER used marijuana and are EXTREMELY disappointed in me. I still want to continue to use marijuana every once in a while, but I'm afraid I'll get caught again somehow...My parents are totally against marijuana and it pretty much sucks. I guess I'll just have to wait until I'm 18... |

| if it gets in the way of family its not worth it. Religion and Family come first, then school, then pleasure. |

| Religion? Why are you telling him this? It is his job to decide his religion and what priority it is in his life. The rest are standard values, but not everyone decides to live their life based on religion. |

family, school, friends, volunteering, pleasure. but yeah, you are 14 and I'm assuming a freshman in high school. Your freshman year is an extremely importatant year for your gpa as it is like setting the foundation for your future high school classes and how bad they affect your gpa. So wait a while and focus on more important matters at hand. Maybe wait until your senior year and having a conversation with them.

it goes in THIS order: Family, school, then pleasure. just cut one out, and you have perfection. anyway, to stay on topic, kiddo, you should not be smoking so early; wait a few years, till your 16 or so, and then decide. the only reason why i say this is because a majority of kids i know around your age are not mature enough to handle cannabis, and spend most of their time playing baseball, soccer, starcraft, w/e. just introduce yourself to life, before you decide to alter your perception of it. you cant really truly appreciate cannabis unless you know what it is that your altering.

| that sucks. they're only trying to protect you but they're also being super close minded. i especially didn't like "Ok Nic, let me ask you this question, do smart kids smoke pot?" ...well of course they do. smoking pot doesn't automatically mean you're brain dead. i hate that. i would wait a while. and if you do decide to smoke, make sure you're extremely careful. the last thing you need is to get arrested or something from smoking pot, then you're parents would really pissed. and waiting til you're 18 isn't so bad. you've got your whole life ahead of you enjoy being young. keep your head up!

Nosry weeds chemistry doesnt affect the brain that way, have you even done your homework?? Also what you're talking about is not "psychical" addiction, your mentality is also partially in that thing scientists cannot find (which makes everyone different) and some zealots call it the soul. Your description of that makes it physical anyway you look at it.
