OK, so im quite excited!! (need opinions)

ok, so my dad finally told me he thinks i can handle smoking responsibly. im 17 and smoke daily. but what do you think? do you think my dad is right in his decision as a parent or wrong?...please state why you said what you did. thank you

well I dont know you as a person so I cant really tell if your one who is responsible, however if your dad thinks you are then you probably are.

I was 16 when my parents said that I was allowed to smoke. They made a good decision.
But I live in Amsterdam, so I wont get any troubles with the police.
So its a different situation.

Age is only a rough determinant of whether or not you should be smoking pot (in my opinion)... it should be primarily based on maturity

If you can maintain an active social life, keep your grades/job going... and don't waste all your money on pot and cheetos, then I don't see why you can't be smoking at 14, 15, 16, or in your case... 17.

Although, that's not to say I'd condone a 12 year old kid to get ripped off his ass, because at that age your brains are still greatly developing and immaturity is a lot more common in that age group. I started at 14 and today I'm doing great... but I also feel that I had a good head on my shoulders and didn't get side-tracked by the "laziness/lack-of-motivation" that seems to be adopted by more and more kids today in the world of marijuana.

Your dad knows you better than any of us and hopefully he is a smart dude and realizes that you're mature enough to routinely smoke.

Now, just prove him right.

well school has always been a problem..i have ADD n they took me off my prescription for certain reasons(if you must know message me)...otherwise i have gotten much more mature than i was a year ago where all i cared about was getting high...

We can't give you an assessment of your maturity level; we don't know you and don't see you on a daily basis. Your dad does. Why do you need reassurances of his decision?

Smoking weed daily is too much and too expensive, but yeah your dad may have made a good choice if he really thought it out and looked into I'm pretty sure he made the right choice.

i am 19 and my parents also told me that i could smoke weed, they said that i was responsible enough and after never getting in trouble and i mean with the cops they let me. i think that your parents just trust you and thats a good thing, and if you have any other questions you should just ask your parents why they let you.

im 17 too. i smoke like 4-5 times a week. taking home higest GPA ever this year.
