does anyone know if certain cell phone companies allow the account holder to view txt msgs online?
apparently with verizon u can view pics online.
this kind of thing makes me very uncomfortable, thankfully i do not have to share an account with my psycho uncle who's into that sort of thing. n thankfully i never helped with the cell phone bills, if im going to be paying a bill im entitled to privacy. he makes me want to vomit.

k just wanted to rant a lil bit. i guess to make this thread more interesting, have u had any experiences with invasion of privacy that were completely illigitimate?

As far as I know, text messages are on your phone only-assuming you don't forward them of course. I know with my company I can send pics to an "online album" but not txt messages or anything like that.

I'm pretty sure text messages are kept on the phone company's servers. I don't know the details of how long they stay on there, or who can view them.

I think you can view them with verizon, but i dont think my parents know how. All i have to say is THANK THE LORD.

All text messages are stored on the carrier's servers after they are sent. I don't know if you can view them online. It would depend on the company. The government can only see them if they have a warrant.

My friend's dad caught me and my friend like this. We texted about weed, his dad got the bill and saw and now we can never see each other again. Just deal with it and you're just going to have to call people if you want to talk about something privately.

i have verizon too are you talking about sent pictures or even pictures that are just on your phone?

As a general rule, anytime you send a text or a picture, it doesn't go from phone-to-phone. It gets uploaded to the server first and then downloaded by the receiving phone. Pictures you store on your phone are probably only visible through that phone, but sent photos obviously are not.

As another general rule, you probably should avoid texting about anything private. If I ever contact a dealer, you better bet that I'm not texting them to ask about weed. Just a bad idea all round.
