| Ok here's the deal. I don't really care about the whole secrecy issue with the internet anymore. Ten years ago, my mom brought me to America, and never did anything to get me legal, so I'm an illegal Canadian immigrant and have been since my 18th birthday. I didn't even have so much as a birth certificate until that time, due to errors on the part of my mother years before in Canada. I don't steal your jobs or do any of the things stereotypical of people like me. I just live here and try to do the best with what I have. I've been active in music since my freshman year of high school, and my current band is starting to get some serious attention. We have a possible gig at First Ave in Minneapolis, which for those of you who don't know, is about as good as it gets in Minnesota without playing major venues like stadiums and such. Yesterday, the landlord that owns the place most of my bandmates live at showed up, and told them they have two days to get their stuff out because he's losing the place, which means the album we were about to start recording isn't happening as soon as we thought. We don't even have a place to practice at this point. I'm wondering if it's worth it to stay and try to make it as a musician, or leave back to Canada and head for Vancouver. Our band is really awesome, but I can't afford to live during the time that we need to make it somewhat big. I can't get a job here because I have no identity, so I can't make the money to get legal or feed myself. Should I gamble more time on the band or head north?

| In order to do that though I need to stay and continue with my music, which seems like it's going downhill rather quickly at this point. |

Getting legal would involve going back to Canada, getting a passport, getting a visa, and then moving back. I'm wondering how you'd get back to Canada though. Border crossings now require a passport.

If I were to go back to Canada, there would be a ten year bar preventing me from returning to the US. I have a Canadian birth certificate now and cannot be turned down at the border. If I've been misled on that, then I'll have to get myself deported anyway. What a mess. | |

| If you can make it back to Canada with no I.D. then I'd go for that option. Otherwise, like Buzzby said, it's not that hard to find work. If you can find work until you get things sorted out and get the band back on track then you'll be good to go. Good luck.
