Whatever happened to the atmosphere of the 70's? As weed tokers, we must all feel some sort of identification with that time period, even though it was 20 years before I was even BORN. I feel a special kind of connection to those times, especially because of the weed, but not just that. The freedom that was in the air, the air of liberty. We just don't have that anymore. The air of companionship, which has now been replaced by a dog-eat-dog type attitude. Why did this happen? Why did that free air dissappear or at least seem to?

Strange how a movie can make me think so much. I've watched Dazed and Confused about 3 times since last saturday and I just keep thinking...man, other than the hazing, my high school days should have been like that. We would never have had a party at the moontower, even if we had a moontower. We rarely had house parties in high school, and driving around was boring, cuz our town was dead. I mean, the friends I had were awesome, but rarely did we do anything too fun. Oh well, I guess I should look towards the future and try to mold my future into what I want it to be, right? Not look back and think "I could have done this differenty..."

However, my question still stands. Where did that free air from the 70's go? In my high school you'd never have a stoner (slater) and a football player (dawson) get along with each other. NEVER. And never would everyone get along and just mess around with each other. Idk if it's just a movie, but everyone seems to get along, and I can't help but feel it's because of the weed (cuz when I get high and know ppl that toke, I'm instantly friendly to them and not shy around them).

PS: I got a theory...the 80's killed the 70's, the 90's killed the 80's, the 2000's killed the 90's (thank god) and I REALLY hope the 2010's will kill everything from the 2000's man...I hope music comes back to mainstream radio...I won't get into a musical argument, but to me, Rap is not summer music...shit like "over the hills and far away" and "slow ride" is summer music...man...
