| let me start off this thread with a little bit of background info. ever since i was a little kid i was always the one to stay up the latest out of everyone in my household. whether it meant staying up to 11pm or 4 am, it was just something i did. i never really knew if it was true how some would say im not a morning person or whatnot, but i clearly am not at my crispest in the morning time 7am -11 am and this showed in school, by me constantly being tired or sleep in class regularly. anyways i feel i have the most energy around 3 am or just basically nighttime, which i feel is going against my natural human circadian clock. anyways i've noticed a sort of self induced pattern from myself over the past few months or so. okay i basically have nothing to do in the morning time and early part of the day, and i work at nighttime. at one point in time i was normally sleeping around 1 am, and then later on it would be 2 am, then 3 am, then 4am, and now 5 am. i find this weird because say for instance when i would normally sleep around 3 am i could be doing something like on the computer, see what time it is, and be like okay, im about to get off, and then my mind will come up with all these ideas for me to do something that i didn't have a minute ago, i'll lose track of time, and around 2:58 or so i would notice that its almost 3 am, feel fulfilled for some reason, and then be able to sleep. or sometime i would go in my room and lay down at like 1am with the lights and tv and everything quiet, and literally not be able to get to sleep until it reached around 3 am. im writing this because i believe its self induced because of my schedule, but the problem is my schedule won't be this laidback for much longer because i will be going back to school in august, and still working at nighttime, and my sleeping schedule with have to adjust or i'll just be a walking burnt out deprived zombie. i appreciate anybody who actually took the time to read this thread, and my point of this thread was to see if anyone has had any experiences like this. and i guess it was to fulfill my requirements, because its now 5am and i have all of a sudden become drowsy and really tired just now, so i guess this is jsut further proof lol. peace out.

| I'm exactly like you man, I'm not a morning person at all... I'm still awake from last night I just came back to my crib around 6. I kind of see myself as nocturnal if you want to call it that. At first I was skeptical about my patterns, but over the years I've learned to just accept them because I really don't care. Who says you NEED to sleep at a certain time, all my jobs have been graveyard shifts, I enjoy the nighttime it's more alive for me.. But at the sametime I have a lot of friends who are just like me and we just bullshit all night long... It's nothing to worry about just DO YOU and enjoy life!

haha yeah, i've never had a job in which i had to work mornings. i always work latenight or overnight. i found it pretty easy(but boring) to work overnight and stay awake. one time i covered somebodies shift for the morning time and absolutely nothing happens that you gotta worry about goes on during that time, you just gotta be present and accounted for, and i was having trouble focusing and staying up. im just not good with mornings. | |

| Not a morning person here either. I work overnights, and tend to do my sleeping between 2 and 10 pm most days (nights?). This is the schedule that works for me, for whatever reason. I'm lucky though, in that I don't find in extremely hard to change my hours around if need be....within 24 hours, I can adaprt to a somewhat "normal" person's schedule for a few days if need be.

| I've always been the same way, if I try to go to sleep at a normal time I just lay awake until like 3 in the morning. Unless I smoke before bed, I am constantly waking up throughout the night. I recently started a new job working 10pm to 630am and so far it's great, it's still light when I wake up and the sun is up by the time I'm done work, so I still see a lot of day light but I'm at work all night (when it's not so fucking hot). I got covers for my windows and a fan for background noise so I can sleep during the day, it works pretty good.

| For me, if i stay up late, i usually sleep in a little later than i actually do, but id say im a morning person. I hate chilling with friends and the chill session is ruined from grumpy attitudes due to groggyness |

| Hmmm...well i think i have the same problem, but honestly i sound like a doucher praising weed so much but i deffinetely have MORE energy then i ever did when i was younger(While sober of course) but there's a bad side to that...like sometimes i wanna sleep but end up sleeping really late, i would TRY to sleep at around 11-1(That's early for me) BUT i just can't no matter how hard i try..Last night i kept tossing around and fucking flipping my pillows 20 times and trying different ways...then i woke up remembering very little of what EXACTLEY i did! |
