Greetings all ! I will be in Amsterdam Schiphol airport July 27 at 1:00pm. I will leave Amsterdam by train to Stuttgart at 5:00pm. I understand there is a railroad station underneath or next to the Airport. I believe you can get to city center {Central Station} in 20 minutes travel time. Is this correct ? My others questions are: 1. Will I have enough time to procure some of the fine delicacies in Amsterdam and still make my train ride to Stuttgart ? {I was thinking a strategical place close to the Central Station like the Central Coffeeshop.} I understand this is a very nice place for the first timer. More of a "cash and carry" But a very nice display box with great quality and price. Also maybe if i dare, I understand that the Grey area is not to far from here and another great "cash and carry" with best quality and price. Would anyone have any other suggestions for someone with not to much time that wants to just "take a breath" of the wonders of Amsterdam ? 2. My second question deals with certain legalities..... Can I legally smoke in the entire country of Netherlands? {I understand that there will be certain public places that it is not permitted, like the train, ect} Can I legally carry it on the train ? Will I have to make sure I am OUT at the German border? How serious is having 5-10 grams in Germany ? Do the Germans actively search passengers ? Is a certain small amount not considered a big deal or should I expect to be dragged away and forget about the wedding i am going to attend on the 31st of july? I want to thank everyone for any advice. As a first timer to the Netherlands, I am totally uncertain of the situation. But I have dreamed of this opportunity. Like a bear attracted to honey, I must do this !~!!! I having had a pretty steady diet of the good high strains in the past. I have had varieties of Blueberry, Shiva, Red Shunk, White widow,Mazur. So I have had years and years of experience. I do not think I am going to have a problem with getting to stoned and lossing track of time But am more concerned with getting to "deep" in the Dam and getting LOST..... I guess the biggest question would be where do I board the train to Stuttgart?? Would that be back at the airport or could it possibly be right at the Central station in heart of Amsterdam ?? Or maybe somewhere else ???? Once again I thank anybody for any help at all !!! Very much looking foward to this......Like a little kid in a candyshop !!!!!

| Hey, I am going to be headed to Stuttgart soon myself. I don't have any answers for you, but I can tell you this. I noticed that you said you will have roughly 5-10g when you reach the border, where did you instend to purchase all that? Coffeeshops are legally only allowed to sell you 3 grams

5 grams for 25 Euro, or two 2.5g for 12.5 Euro. I searched goggle for "Amsterdam coffee shops" One is called the "Amsterdam coffeeshop directory". You will find under the grey area customer response a very recent post around June 2004, I believe. It is also mentioned that actual 1/8th's and 1/4 are also sold. Now from a legal point of view, {I read so much from so many sites and cannot remember which site i read this off of but I think it was the same as above but under the coffeeshop "Central" ... A recent customer wrote that "he had alot of respect for the shop for holding the maximum 5 gram limit per customer......... I think the limit is 5g but please correct me if i am wrong !!

I wouldn't worry about taking pot with you over borders by train. I went to Europe last fall and I spent a 2 days in Amsterdam massing a 1st class 2ounce stash before I took the train through Belgium and into southern France. From there I took the train into Switzerland and then into Germany. I met an Arab who was smoking a huge hash cannon by himself right in the middle of a train car with people all around him. The conductor who was checking tickets didn't even ask him to put it out. I was shocked that nobody was saying anything so I sparked up a cannon myself and started smoking it with thearab who couldn't speak a word of english. I say stock up in Amsterdam and travel by train and you'll be fine, I was. Have a good trip. By the way, there's pot shops in Switzerland, check them out. ![]()

Thank you very much for your detailed answers Solutions, I will feel very good now, knowing some of the rules and travel situations. I appreciate it. It will make my travel much more certain. Thank you Wikingcanuck, for I was hoping to bring something nice along with me to Stuttgart although I think I will be a little more modest in the amount. Ofcourse it sounds like you were on a long voyage {Sounds Great !} and would have needed a proper amount. I will only be in Germany for less then a week. But that train event...Blows my mind !!! Can you imagine that poor guy here in the USA trying that !!! I wonder how that would go over in Canada??? {You know with Canada there is hope} The US..... I'm not so sure...... :+( The Netherlands... God bless them....... At least there is some sensibility in this world no matter what the bottom line is or thought to be ..........

Hello @ all. I am a new member and I found a place to place my first words. I am from Germany and I do trips to the Netherlands on a regular basis. Not that you can`t get everything you want here but I like to spend time in the train and I love the atmosphere in Holland. There was the question about passing the border and entering Stuttgart. I passed yesterday the border by train from Enschede to Gronau, you may check a Map. It scared the **** out of me, as the Train-station is always full of cops and they control a lot of the trains, not all. The policemen in Germany ARE indeed doing controls, they are boarding the train and using a dog, they surely will find you. They really are very good at fiding stuff, as one time when i just came back from Amsterdam with a mate and we entered Germany already, they stopped us, and found what they wanted to. I would be very carefull in Germany, as it is illegal... Nevertheless enjoy you stay in Amsterdam it is one of the interesting and fascinating cities of the world. Take care everybody ch

Ive gone by train to Amesterdam once from Germany and once by car. On the ICE from Centraal Station I didnt see anything too alarming and I wish I would have traveled with some green--That was the Summer of 2003. However, last March 2004 we were driving from the Netherlands and right across the border into Germany I was pulled over with my buddy and they searched us both, the cars, our bags--everything. Luckily we didn't have anything on us. Nonetheless it was pretty terrifying for an American to be even questioned by the Foreign-Po. I would say be careful, it seems like the EU countries are becoming more strict with pot across the borders.
