| I am a retired police officer 10 years (medical/injury), and former Marine, I have a college degree, and I am 42 years old. I have children, and all the responsibilities that go with life. I choose not to drink alcoholic beverages, but choose to smoke cigs or dip skoal occaisionally. In my opinion I am a good citizen. Oh yeah, I occaisionally choose to smoke weed because it makes me feel good. I like the relaxing affect, not to mention it takes the pain away from my injuries I received while protecting California from criminals. I did not smoke while I was a police officer! As with Alcoholic beverages and smoking cigs Marijuana should be totally legalized. The laws should follow the DUI and minor laws, not punishing those of us U.S. Citizens from choosing our own life medication. If you choose not to Smoke Weed great, that is your choice. Don't tell me that I can't, just because you don't. We are the people, not just the elected officials that run our lives for us because we can't choose what's right. I am not a stoner nor a drug addict. I just rather smoke weed than drink alcoholic beverages. My choice. Moderation is the key, as in any thing else you do. There will always be people that take things to excess. Get help! I am open for any debate, as long as it is a debate not a name calling fest. |

| I could not agree with you more. People have a choice in what they do or say! Let them decide what they want to do. It took me 18 years before I could finally make decisions for myself & now I have to listen to old people bitch about my health problems? I don't think so. smoking is my choice... they need to back the phuck up & chill the phuck out! |

| Kudos to you, sir. You might find that you're preaching to the choir here though. Tell your former colleages what you told us and you'll probably find more debate. While you're at it . . . ask them to stop arresting us! -HH |

| All I can/should say is "you would be surprised" If you noticed I said I didn't smoke while I was on the job. Not that I didn't want to, I just thought it would be hypocritical. That was the choice I made when I decided to take the job. I have knowledge of some who did, and some who you would never think would! I have had this debate with my colleagues many times and most of the time there was no debate. We all know the truth! I have seen many fatal traffic collisions in my time. Alcoholic beverage consumption was the cause in most of them. As for arrest, it is just part of the job. I know in my case, I just gave em an ass chewing, dumped it out, and told them to be more private. It wasn't a priority for me. I have to say though, there were some really stupid people that deserved to go to jail, or get acitation. ![]() |

| I've heard from a number of sources that LEOs always have the best dope. Is there any truth to that? ![]()

| Mmmm! Retired, and pro-Marijuana, too (within responsible limitations). Now that's what I call good cop/good cop.
