Ok, I just got my Time magazine as I walked in my door from school. And it's all about the school shooting that have been happening in the USA. So as I read the main article about the kid in Santee, California, I read that he smoked! He supposably smoke "bubblegum chronic" (never heard of that name, just Bubblegum and Chronic, maybe its their local good strain). So I think, ok they just say he smoked with a group of kids. But no they mentioned it like 3-4 times after that. They also mentioned that just before he went to school that day he smoked a joint. Big Focking deal! There is no reason to put that he smoked marijuana in that article.

I can see it now, another stereotype of us smokers that we are violent and cold hearted. I'm going to write to Time magazine about this and tell them the truth and not to put stupid unnecessary facts in their articles.

The media has warped our children!!! Video games depicting violence have curved their minds and made them turn into hostile killers!!! Rock music and Satan combined have pushed these kids over the edge!!! And certainly the use of the devils weed has a big role to play in all of this!!!

Out of all the things mentioned by outraged mothers looking for blame none of them can come right up and defend themselves...Weed cant talk, Satan isnt real, Rock music has many voices, so doesnt the media, and video games only say what they are programmed to say. Can we say scapegoating?

Try this people, blame the parents who raise their kids to deal with their problems in such a violent way, blame the kids who go to school and tease other kids simply because they see other people do it, or better yet blame the kids who grow up in antisocial environments that do these sort of things. But stop blaming inatimate objects and start taking responsibilitie for whats yours. We all know the troubled kids exist but do we do a thing to help them NO we stare at the problem untill the problem has a gun and reeks havoc on our lives. Reach out god damn it some kids need that more than anything!!!! Leave childish finger pointing out of the damn issue and wake up!!!! Grrrrr society really knows how to anger me.

This is kind of off topic, but I wanted to say something about this latest school shooting.

I saw on the news that apparently an adult heard that he was planning on doing this, so he confronted him by saying something like "You better be joking or Ill haul your ass to jail." What kind of a stupid mother****er would do that? Its almost like hes inviting the kid to deny it. So the kid just said he was joking.

Well the kid is getting hauled off to jail, for a looong time if not his whole life. But sadly with the consiquence of 2 people.

Back on the subject. hehe yea thats true CheebaKing. But maybe there is some crazy person around here that will vote for the other option.

Well, of Course they should have mentioned his smot poking! Marijuana makes women wanna go and have sex with brown-skinned jazz musicians and leads to Reefer Madness! It's all the weed's fault. Forget the fact that this kid was depressed, isolated, alienated, ridiculed and ashamed to be himself!

-do you guys think the Media in general accurately portrays the trials and tribulations of MJ?

-Does the media help or hurt the legalization?

-Or does the media perpetuate the negative images of MJ smokers?

As for connecting the kid smoking weed to the shooting.....not a chance.

The media is not helping our cause whatsoever. It seems that the only time they ever include stuff about MJ is when there is a story where something bad happened(ie this school shooting). If there was an article about MJ saving someone's life (probably has) the media would never put out something like that. Who knows if they're afraid they'll be targeted as pro-drugs/pro-legalization. Or if they're under some higher power that forbids them from doing stuff like that, maybe the government. I'm not trying to sound conspiritorial but stuff like that goes on. Afterall, the government made all references to drugs removed from history books, so what's to stop them from doing it with the media.

The media is definitely not helping the cause. I will use an example that I talked about earlier.

I saw an episode of the show The West Wing a couple of weeks ago and the main story was about marijuana. The surgeon general told the truth about marijuana and got in trouble for it. Now, it was pretty obvious for the entire episode that they were defending our cause. But they still made a lot of jokes about it too. Here is a joke...

President - "Who is against here"
Some guy - He just names a bunch of "respectable" government groups.
President - "Who is with her"
The guy - "The cannabis organization, friends of maryjane, hemp lovers USA, and the marijuana group."

So, even though they were defending legalization, its still thought of as a joke.

Also, if you ever watch the local news and theyre talking about some rally that was held, they only show the people dressed up as big leafs. They dont tell you any statistics about how many people were arrested on marijuana charges, or how many sick people have been prosecuted. They wont show you the speeches. They just show the people who act crazy.


Also, Ill bet that many people on these boards dont know about a lot of the stuff that is going on internationally. Thats because the media never mentions it. I even have digital cable, which carries a channel called "newsworld international" and it never reports anything about marijuana, no matter how much is going on. Switzerland is about to decriminilize to a greater extent than Holland, but you never hear about that here.

Theres also the fact that the government controls the media (paying channels to play propoganda).

People will come on these boards talking about how they dont care if theyre killing brain cells, they just want to smoke in peace. When the marijuana smokers themselves believe the propoganda, then its a real problem.
