Do you find that smoking pot has affected your grades in school? I'm 21 and in an honors program at the University of Texas, where I have a 4.0 GPA in my major. I am also a regular pot smoker. I know many other people who are successful students as well as being heavy pot smokers.

I'm not saying any of this to brag. I hate the all-too-popular notion that weed-smokers are a bunch of lazy, unmotivated failures. I know too many intelligent potheads to ever believe this!

my grades havent went up any but it makes it much easier to get through class w/out falling asleep, i actually find some of the stuff interesting.

I also hate that bad reputation about stoners, some of us stoners are goal oriented members of society, some of us arent, either way is fine by me.

The stereotype of MJ users is composed of a bunch of lies and propaganda. Responsible people know their limits and what works for them. MJ allowed me to regulate my cognitive processes to the point that college was a breeze (dean's list, over 3.8 GPA). However, my enrollment was terminated because of a MJ charge of independent use in the privacy of my home. ...go figure. Be very f**king careful not to get caught, financial aid and even your enrollment can be stripped away from you without any form of justification.

I wouldnt say pot has made me less smart. If anything it opened up my eyes to many different things, and i consider myself actually more open and think more clearly from smoking. I began smoking marijuana with a very lazy state of mind, and that lazy state of mind has continued and gotten worse, but finally it is getting better. The reason i am also so lazy in school especially is because in my view i believe it is a real waste of a lifetime. You live for 60- years up if your lucky and that whole time you get no break or have time to sit back and enjoy life. You goto school all your childhood, wasting time when your running around with no worries thinking the world is perfect, then you become older and just work and work your entire life. And you dont even see any effects that you contributing to society by working has earned. You will never see any outcome from work you have done, What exactly do people work for? what are we trying to accomplish or what level are we trying to get to?

hey man if it helps u learn and to help process info go for it, got no ill feeling about going to school high cause its your life, just try to toke up off school grounds

and if anyone says dont go to school high, those people tend to have this holyier then holey outlook, they fail to see some things help others learn better or worse etc

TOKE IT UP and ask teh teacher some trippy questions make them PROVE they can teach

Well i am a senior in high school and i am in the top 1% of my graduating class. I dont smoke before school or at school. I dont like being stoned at my school... i go to private school and its just small classes and i dont like it. I get way to paranoid being around my teachers and what not. I deffinatly dont think it has affected my grades what so ever. I usually dont smoke until i know all my work is finished. If im stoned i tend to not want to work on stuff... and i find it very hard to write papers while stoned. Stuff like math and science i can do stoned but not my english. I wrote a paper stoned once.... it made no sense what so ever. So i decided not to do english homework stoned ever again haha.

I am in grade 12 and I am in the top 10 for my grade (out of 500). My grades have gone up since I started smoking marijuana.

i would have to say when i started i got better grades and now they are just where i want then. i could do better but i am happy with my grades. i am a 3.0+ student and i am happy with that, school shows your ability to do work, not always how inteligent you are.

i also use pot to help other outlets of my life like art, writing stuff like that.

school shows what u have memorized, think about it how many teachers MADE or GOT you to think on your own. most teachers have u read some facts or math formula and thats its.
