They say why do it at all, and i couldnt really find a reason, maybe ill pull up the what does mj do to you and why do you smoke threads.

thats shitty man, whenever i get a bad feeling about smoking somewere i always go somewheres else. you friend is kinda dumb for smoking in his moms house- did he expect her to get home soon or was she at work or something?

So whats the deal with your parents are they gonna try to send you to rehab or something? I say you should print up some official look articles supporting marijuana- do ALOT of research, google would be good for that. look up "marijuana myths" or "marijuana propaganda". you really don't have to make up anything about pot there is enough proven bullshit you just have to search.

My point exactly.

"ihavenoidea" has been posting here for 2-4 months. There is a tremendous amount of information both on this site as well as the Web in general that is pertinent to his question.

It just stuck me as the first logical action to do a 'search' prior to asking others for others to post (or re-post) the information he was interested in.

On the other hand, if he had said that he had searched high and low but was fresh out of ideas as to what to say to his parents then my response would have been different.

my tone is almost always aggressive or even offensive when someone comes into a thread and pposts some long ass thing on why the first post is bad or wrong without really adding to the convo.

what i meant by "now people cant post new threads?" is that you seem to have came in here and said that this thread is useless and he should have just searched, its not like he is asking a pacific question like "my parents are saying pot causes brain damage is that true" he shared his story and asked for ANY advice,

i guess i don't see the reason why you came in here to "nag"

Unless you have a medical problem I really don't think that any of those threads will help you. A parent is going to want to hear about how good it makes you feel when it is their job to try to raise you to some day be independent and that would include from drugs.

Adolescence is the time in which we begin to learn how to cope with lifes stresses. It is the time in which our brains are still developing and our reactions and behaviors are just starting to turn to habits. Teenagers get angry easily and we have to learn how to control that anger or turn it into something productive. Teenagers become emotional and depressed and we have to learn to handle that without the use of substances so that when we reach adulthood we can perhaps be better prepared to deal with the hard times as an adult.

When teenagers smoke pot it is more likely to become a habit than if they wait until they are an adult. If you haven't learned how to cope with anger, depression, or even sitting back and having a good time without pot then you are much more likely to become psychologically addicted to it.

It doesn't really matter what reasons you find here to try to help your parents understand why people smoke pot because outside of a medical reason you will never find an answer to "why do it at all?" that will satisfy your parents. The harder you look for a reason the more it starts to sound like desperate attempts to justify your own use and if you are truly honest with yourself that would bother you a bit too.

When you become an adult you will be better equipped to handle the use of marijuana and will not be as likely to feel like you "need" to toke and can better incorporate it into your life.

Right now you feel as if a couple of years is too long to wait, and that you are mature enough to handle it, and that you can use marijuana responsibly. Your parents however are more likely to think that if you can't wait a couple of years that you are not mature enough to handle it and that you can't use it responsibly. It's not an argument you can win, and by attempting it you just reinforce their beliefs that you have a problem.
