Yeah i asked him for that source as well, still havent found it. I know it doesnt cause paranoia. And ik teens arent known for self control, but my point with them is i have shown self control with all other aspects of my life so why wouldnt this be the same. Thats the same principle they used for me to be able to drive, all other responsibilites come first, and they agree that i have put everything else possible ahead of mj on my priorities. They say that when i decided to smoke i should have come to them and asked permission since i wasnt allowed under their roof, then they can look at the facts (they admit theirs are wrong) and decide what to do.

But i have offered to stop smoking, to show that it is not addicting and will not change my behavoir/responsibilites, and to give them a chance to research and think about what to do, as well as regular (daily?) drug tests to ensure i am not, and as long as i am comming up clean and being honest about it, i get all my privileges back. But they will not do that bc they "just dont want to". They are being incredibly irrational and all i can do is take it while knowing im right. They also say if they research, they wont let me smoke still, so why would i have gone to them about it before i smoked in the first place? just for them to tell me no and watch me closer.

Ive also asked permission to do it outside the home, and come home after my high, but still no go. Appearently me doing it elswhere affects my life at home? NO! And btw i pay for everything except mortgage payments, utilities, and food (at least whats in the fridge/pantry). So they arent really paying anymore money if i do it rather than if i quit.

sorry for the little rant but im trying to be adult about this, but they just wont listen. And still havent even given me 1, not 1, reason i shouldnt smoke (except the made up ones previously discussed).

PS: I did actually get my mom to admit that mj is not harmful to the brain whatsoever, but still hasnt given me reason not to smoke.....

Hey man, i am in the EXACT situation you are in right now. Let me start with how i got caught. It was like 2 weeks ago on a saturday and my parents and my sister went to an amusement park all day and then me and my dad went to a little historical thing with someone dressed up like a founding father. It was an o.k. day. However, the whole day i had been getting a cold and when i got home i waited till about 10:15 and decided that smoking just a little out the window would make it better. It did. Anyway knock on the door and i hide the shit and open it and standing there with coughdrops is my dad. He smells it and I'm BUSTED. So they flush my ounce of weed and put me on restrictions: took my keys, no friends, made me go to a councilor, no computer(my dad lets me when my mom isn't around though), drug test. All the shit your going through i'm with ya. But I havent argued with them. When i pass my drug test which i'm taking later tonight they will give me my keys and i am leaving. I don't know how old you are but I'm 18. I only had to go to the councilor once because when your 18 you don't have to do it if you don't want to. Basically, its mom and dad fuck me or mom and dad fuck you. You are living under there roof. There isn't shit that you can do about their rules. Whenever you've got in trouble before have you been able to change their minds? I haven't with my parents. There is no reason to argue with them and shit, it just makes you look worse. My parents are only in their 40's but they are very old fashioned. My dads favorite show is Andy Griffith for christ's sake. If you are 18 and have a car and a good friend that will let you stay with them thats really your only chance. Just be glad that you got caught by your parents and not the cops. I don't know how all this moving out and shit will work but im not going to try and break ties with them. I'll let you know what happens to me and my situation. I feel for you man, but i don't want to end up like you being friendless for the next year until i graduate highschool, i weighed the pros and cons in my head, and im leaving, ill let you know how it turns out for me. p.s: if you do move out don't tell them until your ready to, i hinted at it a week ago and it isn't constructive

Well i think its working, we have an appointment with my doctor sometime and they say they want to hear why my doctor doesnt approve, because they have not given me one legitimate reason not to do it. After that, i gave them a bunch to read and think about. Then i can go places, but i cant drive till i buy my own car on my $7/hr salary (and they want me to buy a brand new car? all on my own!!!). My mom says she will let me do it, but she wont like support it or help me (buying rillos/pipes etc). And anyone married prob knows my dad has no power.

Something i did learn yesterday though is a lot of my moms family does/did it. She even used to buy it for my uncle who was a big lawyer and didnt want his reputation shattered for getting caught. Anyway i have a lot of traits i inherited from him that my mom didnt, i guess this is another.

Oh and the only reason i have to pay for a car is bc i lied about my using. They said if i would have talked to them about it not being dangerous, they would have let me. I really didnt think it would do anything bc of their proffession.

Hey what's up guys? This is my first post to the forum, but I've been reading them for a few months. Anyway I just wanted to share my story and see if anybody has any advice.

I've been smoking for about a 1.5 years (almost 16) but only regularly for about 5 months. I got caught a year ago because I smoked on my roof with a friend and I went to sleep and he promised to take the pipe off the roof when he left, but didn't and my mom found it and my sister ratted me.

My mom was pretty cool about it, she used to be a partier, but she thought I was way too young and I told her I had only done it once and I quit. Last year I went to boarding school and so I never was home enough to get in trouble. I decided not to go back after that year and I this summer I started hanging out with some old friends from school.

There were three of us, lets call them A and J, and me. A smoked every night in his room because he has older parents and his room is upstairs and they NEVER go up there. So we start staying at A's house almost every night (we tell our parents it's because A has a lawn service and we are gonna go early the next morning to help him). We have this insane setup, like over 15 homemade pipes and bongs, a hookah, a few other real pieces, every stoner movie you could ever want, and a full stock of food with a fridge and microwave. Shit it going good. Then one night I stay over at A's and we had just bought a lot of weed. We had about 2 ounces. One ounce was for all of us and the other A was gonna sell. Anyway he and I are in this other bedroom that is connected to his that no one stays in and we smoked a LOT. I think we smoked 5 joints between us and about 4 bowls out of a pipe and a mini-hookah. We are in that room chilling watching Chappelle's Show when all of a sudden his dad bursts in the room and starts yelling and freaking out and throwing shit. He is drunk as fuck by the way. He almost hit A when A tried to be calm and responsible and just talk to him about it. Luckily for us, he only gets a shitload of roaches, our grinder, 1 ounce, and 1 bong. So we hastily get rid of all other paraphernalia and go to sleep. We were able to tell him the next day this was the first time we had ever smoked and blah blah, but he still said he's gonna tell my mom.

So my situation is fucked up, because my mom and I have this "open" policy where she is okay with most stuff I do as long as I tell her where I'm gonna be and who I'm with and as long as we're not driving. She doesn't really mind me drinking or smoking cig's, but I'm pretty sure she would get real upset if I told I still smoked and how much I smoke because when we had our "open" talk I told her I didn't smoke anymore. Honestly, I would rather tell her than my friends dad tell her because she would be so embarrassed if he told her, but it's been a week and he hasn't said anything so I don't know what to do. I really don't want to lose her trust either way, and I hate sneaking shit around but I really don't know how she'd react. Any suggestions?

P.S. One good lesson I learned through getting caught that I want to share is NEVER get too comfortable with your surroundings. At first we used to hide shit and spray and mouthwash and wait until his parents were asleep to smoke, but then as we realized there was a 0% chance of getting caught, we stopped being careful and that's what fucked us over. Anyway thanks for reading my insanely long post.

get a good public defender and try to get the case reduced because of the length of time it has been since original case,the statute of limitations veries on different charges,who knows it may get thrown out,if not make sure your lawyer gets the best deal he can,it's not like you killed someone although they may act this way,go with the flow,no matter how ridicoulous it seems just do it and get on with it. kinghelwig

omg so ive been clean for over a week (since the friday before last) and my parents said last week i can have my car back today, and then this morning they said no! They keep changing their rules, they say i cant smoke pot or i cant drive, but i havent been smoking and i still cant drive, but whenever i bring this up they are like we need more time of not smoking. But they wont even say how long my restricition is supposed to last, indefinatley? then they keep changing what would happen if i smoke, at this morning it was i just cant drive, tonight it changed to im not allowed to go out (grounded), now its losing my job?! I just dont know what to do i cant live in a prison idefinatley and i dont have incetive for following their rules if im still living in a cell. Theyre saying that weed will ruin my life, but they are the only ones taking me away from it, what should i do?!

I got caught for the first time last thursday. I have been smoking since I was 16, about once or twice a week, sometimes less, sometimes more. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I got this keychain that had a container in it, and I thought it would be cool to keep some bud and papers in it, so I shoved about 1.5 grams and 2 papers in it, and I stupidly put it on my keys last thursday befor going to an Aesop Rock show. I had only been to one concert before that, and they didn't have metal detectors, or search you. This one they did. So after going through the metal detectors, a security guy asks me to empty my pockets, which I did. When I handed him my keys though, which had the bud, I was reluctant to let go, and he thought I was trying to take the weed back, which made it look worse. So he takes me, while my friends are watching, back to some empty hallway and starts talking to me about how marijuana is bad, he knows people who are addicted, and why do i do it. He also threatened to either call my parents or take me to juvy, but luckily he did neither, and eventually just let me go to the concert. He did take down my drivers liscense number though. What do you think he will do with it? I'm just glad he didn't call my parents though, i got really lucky. He also took away a sharpie that had a joint in it, even though i didn't tell him about it. Oh well, I know to be a lot more careful in the future.

ive only really gotten caught up once. it was a couple years ago when i was still in high school. me and my friend would have daily sessions at her house after school. one day we were sitting on her balcony and as i was about to take my hit of the pipe i caught a glimpse inside the sliding glass door and who was there? her father. standing right there looking at me. he waved at me and kind of laughed and went back inside. my friend went inside and her father asked to talk to her. she told me that he said, "i saw him smoking out there. you know i have no objections about marijuana but i just dont feel comfortable with him smoking out there."

the only excuse she could come up with was that i was having "problems at home" and that i just came over real quick. lol for some strange reason he never suspected that she was smoking to.

in the end..i ended up having a talk with him and i explained my "problems" and he let me off the hook. he was pretty cool about it so im not trippin. but if it had been her mom?!?! OHHH MAN. lol
