my parents are the type of people who are against marijuana because they think that it is really bad for you like doing crack. I have tried to explain to them that it is not all that bad for you at all and that drinking is worse for you,but I think that they just are mad cause it is illegal. I told them if it was legal I would smoke it more than the occasional bong hit like i do right now. When I told them that they both kinda stared at me in disbelief. And it doesnt make it any worse my mom working for the courts and seeing tons of crack heads. Thanks for all the advice.

So here I am, walking out of work tired and bored. As I walk to get into the car, my mom offers to let me drive (still on a driving permit) and I accept. She asks me whats wrong and I could tell something was bothering her when she said it.

On the drive home she goes 'I know this isnt the best time to talk about this, but I think youve been smoking marijuana.' She said she has seen enough seeds and ashes in my room, has found a cup with dirty water that smells like weed (i cleaned my pipe in it) and has smelt it enough times to think I do smoke weed. I answered her telling her I dont smoke often. She went on about I've got to watch what Im putting into my body (im into bodybuilding/weight lifting and take good care of myself).

To my suprise she was cool about the whole thing. Didn't tell me I couldnt at all, just told me Ive really got to watch what im doing. No punishment, no weird vibes coming off of either of us, we are acting as though we havent even had the conversation so thats a definite plus.

Just thought id share my story.

thats awesome to have a caring mom that isn't naive and really didnt have a big problem with smoking.

being a body builder, smoking is so much better than what booze, juice, and any other off topics do to you.
ive seen a lot of body building buddies lose it all to the effects of everything but weed. the one pot head body builder i know is the biggest monster!. hes the man.

unless youra marathon runner, then smoking isnt' good either.

I believe as more and more of us reasonable folk become parents, more of these type of "confrontations" will be the norm.

Sucks for all of us that went before, but ya gotta do what a trailblazers got to do.

Yeah, Ive always seen my mom as a cool mom, she can be strict and very motherly, but in the end shes cool. I went to my friends house after I got home from work and got changed and such, eventually we through some chicken on his grill and let it cook while we smoked up. Very fun i must say. Later that night as we were smoking again after leaving a friends house I realised how lucky I really am to have an understanding mom, she really was just worried about me blowing a job oppurtunity one day down the line.

Being as into body as I am, I tend to stay away from other off topic substances. I am not huge by any means, but I do my best to look good. I havent noticed any negative effects in the gym from weed so thats good. I think marijuana is the best choice someone with my interests can choose, there have not been any proven studies that show marijuana effects your bodys ability to gain muscle (unlike alcohol and other off topics).

Im probably gonna chill out and not smoke as much in my room as I used to, not stop completely but try to limit myself. Thank god for understanding people.

sounds like my parents...as long as my grades are fine and i work, im good to go, they wont give me any real hassle, besides taking out the trash and cleaning my room :P

Well I come home from my friends house and as soon as i walk in the door my two little sisters (9 & 10) run to their room. So i figure they must be playing a game or something and i go straight to my room. My dad comes in about 5 mins later (He knows i smoke) and tells me that my sisters were pokin' around in my room and found a few pipes, my pack of phillies, and my bong.

Well now because of D.A.R.E. my little sisters think im a psycho maniac whos on the verge of grabbing my 12 gauge and shooting them in the middle of the night.

What should I do? I want to prove to them that im still the same loving older brother and tell them the truth about marijuana without making it too appealing to them.
