i dont know man both ways has its ups and downs, if you know know your parents wont go berserk and do something stupid like send you to live somewhere else then maybe you should defend weed in an argument, let them talk but make them listen also...hope it goes good man

Lets see, I have been busted twice.
The first time was while I was in Vancouver for my brothers wedding, my dad was changing my bed sheets for when I got home and found my stash which I had brainlesly hid under my pillow. I was in a rush packing so I didn't have time to properly hide it. I lost my first pipe (sniff) a pretty nice wood pipe with a soapstone bowl and other miscalneouse stuff. I got a stern talking to and my dad said if I got caught again he would "re-evaluate whether or not I could live in his house" my parents are divorced, I like my Dad but sometimes he can be pretty self-important and pompus.
The second time was when I was on a snowboarding trip with this camp type thing we were all shacked up in some budget hotel which caters to groups like that. Anyways their was some night skiing going down so a bunch of people were like the directors and all them are going to be gone so they pretty much hot boxed one of the rooms it was a bad scene because there were a bunch of people there who weren't smoking, so one of the camp directors walked in (I later found out she was really drunk at the time) and she's like "What are we going to do about this" she started writing down names including the people who weren't smoking at the time. Nobody was speaking up and letting these people who weren't doing anything get screwed so I spoke up and said that I was smoking and that these people weren't. Anyways the other camp director (the first ones husband) who was sober at the time showed up and yelled at us for a while, then he made us call our parents and tell them what had happened and that they would have to pay train fare to go back to Toronto that night (even though there was only one more day). But they couldn't send us back because out of the 3 other people that go the shaft including myself they couldn't send 2 of them back. So they couldn't just kick out half the people so they let us stay. Anyways the next night we went into the commercial "village" at the base of the mountain. My buddies and I ended up getting pretty dam stoned again, but everyone else got ridiculously drunk, one 13 yr old girl had to be carried back to the bus because she was passed out. After that they pretty much ignored us.
In that bust the dude who's room it was lost his bong and a **** load of other stuff, my buddy lost his pipe and about a gram or so of kind herb. I had a 60 dollar pipe around hanging around my neck, but it was under my fleece jacket so they didn't find it. But I got sent to my mom's (aka prison camp) for 3 months.
The thing that pisses my off most about it is what an asshole my dad is. I've talked to him about pot in an abstract sense (i.e. not about my own use but about it in general) and he always seemed positive. But when the **** hit the fan he was just worried about saving his own ass from getting *****ed out by my mom. He still has the sort of turning a blind eye unless it's a problem attitude but I bet if I ever get busted again he's gona cover his own ass and leave me out to dry.

A little background before the actual story, I'm in my junior year of high school, and started smoking occasionally at the end of my sophmore year. When junior year started, I bought my first bowl(Cosmo), which I still have today. After that I started smoking on a daily basis. The day I got caught, I was supposed to get 3 grams my dealer owed me, but he couldn't get them cause it was only regs, and he usually had dank. This was what saved my ass. During second period the deans came to class and broke me down to the Dean's office, lucky me. I knew from the second they came to get me they were gonna search me, and I had my one hitter in my pocket.
They told me that they came to get me because there was a paper clip jammed in the keyhole on the back of my lock.(They have the key so they can search any locker when they want). I have no idea how it got there.
When they told me to empty my pockets, I just put everything but the hitter on the desk, and when they told me to turn my pockets out, I just held my hands to the side, with my hitter in my left hand. They didn't notice it, put it back in my pocket and sat down. I was home free...then one of them grabbed my wallet and started going through it. Just great, he was gonna find my papers. He did. I told them I just rolled my own cigarettes with flavored tobacco. They said they didn't believe me. So they took me to search my locker. They found a potleaf a friend drew in my notebook in chemistry, so they called my parents, and just sent me back to class for the rest of the day.
Well, when I got home I knew I was caught the second I saw my dad's car out front. I walked up to my room to get all my ****. It was gone. The box on my dresser I kept my other bowl in and my weed in was gone. The box in my closet I kept Cosmo in was gone, hell, even a homemade bong I forgot I had was found. I walked into my dads room while he was downstairs, and found it all laying out on his ironing board. I immediately grabbed Cosmo and stashed it in the only hiding spot I had left. Then I went downstairs and pretty much fessed up I smoked. My dad didn't notice that I took Cosmo back, but my sister smashed my other bowl with a hammer. My sister and mom were pissed as hell, but my dad acted like he kind of knew I smoked before this.(I'd been busted with a "friend's" plant about a month earlier). I've been grounded since, and it's 8 days until I fail the drug test he's giving me.

Nice, very slick move saving the one hitter and Cosmo. I feel your pain man, getting caught sucks.

Good luck with the impending drug test... hopefully, your parents won't react too harshly.

and another thing I forgot to mention, my dealer got caught the same day, and the little (@%^#$! narced on me. The only reason I didn't get in trouble at school was cause I had no bud on me. AND my dealer won't give me the three grams, saying I narced on him.

Definitely look into getting a new dealer, one who is more trustworthy than that guy. I can't believe your dealer narced on you, I hate it when ppl pass the blame. I wish they would just be men and take the heat.

Alright, so last week my dad busted me. I just bought an eigth of some dank and tossed it in my usual hiding place. He got it and hid it on his own. I posted the story a while back on this forum. But then today I was grabbing a purse for my mom and as soon as i opened the cabinet, a blast of skunk hit my face! I searched for like 5 seconds and there it was! Time to toke!!!

A bit more than a year after i started, i was caught. It didnt happen becuase my parents actually caught me in the act or found anything in my room or any exciting story like alot of people..which is a good thing i think. Basically, they found out because i started to get lazy. They started to notice that i was alwayse low on cash and that i would never want to tell them how much money i have in my bank and such. There were other small reasons but this is the main reason and the reason they actually confronted me about it. One day after i had a nice wake and bake, my mom just plain out asked me how long i had been smoking weed for, i said 6 months which was literally half true (1 year) I think that this is the best way to get caught. They didnt take anything, no punishments and i was still aloud to hang out with the same friends. So if your planning on telling them or letting them kno..i would say definetly go for it..its easier for both when they dont find out from someone else.

Never got caught, but my parents let me know they knew and we're alright with it.
