man i cant believe i just read your post, the EXACT, EXACT same thing happened to me last night. i was chillin in a friends room smokin and went home around 1, i didnt bother to put on any cologne or anything, cause really i wanted to get caught i hated my parents not knowing, so i get home and my mom says i smell really bad(thats what u get for baking out a room for 4 hours) and im like yeah mom we were smokin some pot. well she didnt go ballistic, and i didnt get punished, but she is really really really concerned about the legal aspects. im not sure how valid her arguement is, but she says that if im caught, she can get in trouble. i dont understand how me gettin picked up for something can get her into trouble(apart from her having to help me out with the legal fees, which id pay back later of course) but she understands pot isnt bad for you physically, shes just worried about the law. anyone have any ideas how i can convince her its safer to smoke in my room than out about in the world. the other thing she says is that im a minor, and its her house, and that she doesnt want drugs in her house, what can i do but just respect that? well of course shed rather not have me smoke at all, but i dont want to give it up, sure ill lay off until things cool down, but i dont want to lie to her again, and get caught for real. id rather convince her that the cops arent gonna come knockin at the door cause i smoked in my room. the friend said that if i can show her that im not slacking off in any other aspect of my life, that ill get some respect back. but its gonna take a while to build... either way im happy they know now because i can be honest. i hope everything will play out cool in the long run. the worst that can happen is that ill just have to wait till college and a legal adult to smoke again(talk about feelin like ur first time again haha) ill be posting about it so stay tuned, ill turn it into a soap opera or something. gotta keep a positive attitude man. peace ttyl.

alright this arguement is between respect and legalities, first your probably right, most likely a cop wont come to the door. then again this is your parents house, and its normal for them to not want drugs in their house, i used to be in the same situation as you, i just kept on smoking, but i respected there wishes. they worried about getting in trouble, so i just didnt get high around them.

Um, I got a couple things to clear up...

When I said I would be quitting for a month, that was when I was talking to my friend who smokes pot almost every day and a month is reasonable for him. I plan on quitting from now until the end of school....probably....

When my mom said the punishments were way too harsh, she was just saying that she doesn't think pot is a dangerous thing and shouldn't have punishment for private use. But she said that because it was illegal it was too much of a risk to take. She also said she knows how much fun pot is and how she knows i want to experiment with drugs. I really don't ever want to do anything but weed. I've never smoked a cigarette and never gotten drunk and would never put a manmade drug in my body. I think she was more worried about the stolen car than the pot....

Well, these next couple weekends are going to be pretty boring, but me and my Gamecube will make it through....

but personally, i wouldn;t take a break from weed.
it sounds to me like they were more concerned about you driving around in a stolen car with a guy who has drug problems (i am assuming drugs other than mj) - it also sounds to me like they dont mind you smoking weed , but they do care about the consequences that can happen to you if you get cought. if i were u, i would still smoke a lil dank, maybe on the weekends or whatever, and lay low...

I just got in trouble, my parents now know i have smoked pot. It sucked so bad, i got home from work on sun. night and my mom was acting completely normal. Than about 2 hours later i went in my room to change cause i was goin to workout and my mom came in my room and was like, "do u smoke pot?"..I just stood there and was like "what are u talking about" she then preceeded by pulling the wooden hookah out of my lowest drawer that i just bought. She said she was looking for a pair of shorts for my bro. Of course i told a little white lie about how many times i have actually smoked and told her it was just an "experimental" thing. Now for the real crappy part: i had to give my mom the brand new beautiful wooded hookah which cost about 30 and my parents are gonna take me in for random drug tests. They both won't even talk to me right now this is the worst......

Oh, dude, that really SUCKS!!! Was the hookah the only thing they confiscated, or was there other paraphenalia involved?! What about your stash...Did they find it?! Hope not. If I were you I'd lay low for a little while until most of this blows over....don't smoke for a couple of months, until you've earned their trust again, then just be careful. Seriously, dude, nothing is worth your parents' disapproval, especially if you're still livin' under their roof. I know, it sucks, but just try to roll with it, and before you know it, you'll be tokin' in your OWN apartment, or college dorm, AWAY from their suspicious gazes.
