OOPS...Posted before I was done. Seriously, one of the best days of my life was when my mom found out I smoked, and I could say "Yes, but I don't live under your roof, so I don't have to abide by your rules anymore." Man, was she PISSED, but it was cool, cuz she eventually accepted it.

It sure gripes me how parents can be so judgemental and harsh when they find out something like this. They have no right to withdraw parental approval and affection just because of an incident like that. Plus, they're probably trying to hide their own guilt with hypocricy (most baby boomers experimented A LOT back in the day, and sometimes with stuff a lot worse than weed.) Those stupid D.A.R.E. folks sure know how to indoctrinate people, and alienate them from their families. I'd suggest for the time being that you really make it a point to talk to your parents about this. Listen to their side of the story, and why they don't think it's a positive thing for you to be smoking pot, and then counter with your own feelings/experiences, etc. And prove to them that you're mature enough and responsible enough to decide your own involvement with pot. Just don't acquiesce to their demand that you quit smoking, but instead, show them how well you've been doing with pot, and how you don't fit the caricature stereotype of a teenaged pothead. I sure hope everything works out for ya, bud. You'll be in my thoughts.

My parents found out about a year ago that I smoked pot. They asked me is I was gonna quit and I straight up said no. They basicly accepted it but told me I can't smoke in the house. I would keep it on the low down and only smoke it outside or when there gone. Ohh and by the way, you think its bad ur parents caught you smoking pot, at least ur sister didn't go off and tell ur parents that u do lsd. They totally freaked when they found that out and the worst part is I already had decided I wasn't going to do it again. Note to everyone, keep drug secrets to yourself and friends, not even your once trusted sister can know, unless you want to risk what happened to me. I think its a real shame that marijuana is a class 1 drug and cocaine is a class 2 drug that can be prescribed by physicians, and used in hospitals. "Hell is worth all that, natural habitat. Just a ryhme without a reason. Neverending maze, drift on numbered days. Now your life is out of season. I will occupy. I will help you die. I will run through you. Now I rule you too." Mettalica refering to cocaine-- Bet you never heard songs about marijuana like that, because thats not what its like, and it doesn't help you die. Reclassify and legalize. Not just to those who are over 18, but to whomever has the money to purchase it. As long as caffeine is this way, why isn't cannabis?

Ive been caught one time and i vowed never to be caught again, and that was over a year ago and ive been so careful that they dont suspect anything. The parents were cool about it, but i know the penalties would be a lot more harsh if it were to happen again.

I make every effort in the world not to get my parents suspicious. In the past I have been pretty clumsy about petty, silly things like cruising the net late at night w/o permission, getting busted doing tiny things like that has toughened me up, I now have TONS of precautions about stashing my stuff and smoking. I do a pretty good job, I must say, but my time will probably run out one of these days. Thats why I am graduating soon

Eventually your parents will learn to deal with it. It happened with my brother, they caught him, were pissed, caught him again, and again, and eventually they just stopped caring. My parents recently caught me, but they havent said ****, my mom just threw away my febreeze and blow tube. Thats what my mom does to my brother, she throws away any paraphenelia(sp?) she finds, usually no questions asked, assuming she doesnt find like needles or something. We only smoke down, so we don't have to worry about that.

This is almost funny to me. I'm 19 right now and my parents caught me a total of 3 times in between 15-17. The first two times I just told them what they wanted to hear. The first time they caught me it was horrible; I felt so bad. Then the last time I got caught I just told them that I thought it wasn't a big deal, and told them that I would quit only to please them NOT because it's "the right thing to do".

And now I'm 19. I'm sure they know I smoke, and they deal with it cause they know I've been doing it since I was 15 and that I've been doing fine for the past 4 years.

i get busted like every week if u call it busted, im 15 and i smoke in my house, sometimes like an hour b4 my parents get home, i stopped caring, when u hide things it just fu**s up ur high, how many of u like to smoke oil?
