Hey,

I'm a longtime lurker that finally decide to not be so lame and register. Now comes the part where I start a thread....

I'm a longtime smoker that has a problem. A few months ago I moved to a new city here in Ontario that is fairly large but isn't Toronto or Ottawa size. I've had the worst luck finding a dealer and was wondering if anyone has experience with this. I don't know hardly anyone here, and I've tapped all my contacts. I'm too old for highschool, but there's a large University here (I'm not a student) so there's lots of people I see around that _look_ like they probably know where to get some weed, but I don't think I could just ask somebody on the street...

I'm not really into bars, but I've thought that this might be my best bet, I dunno, what should I do? Does anyone have experience finding connections in a new city?

i've had tons of people come up to me in the street and ask me if i had any pot. most often, as long as you clearly state that you're not a cop and be sure to pick someone who is likely, people won't be offended.
but that is just my opinion.

Get a joint or something and go to a bar or anything like that with people around your age...Then just look around and if you see anyone that looks like they smoke walk up to them and ask if they party if they ask what you mean just be like toking....if they still don't know then leave but if they say yes, invite them outside and spark it up with them...then ask if they know any people you can get it from.....something like that.....ugh..I don't know.....just ask around and don't act like a cop or anything.

Just thought I would point out that cops will never approach you to try to buy weed. This is called entrapment and the case would get thrown out.

Thanks for the suggestions. I guess I'll just have to not be so nervous about asking people. I don't know why I think they'd get offended or something, I've had people ask me before and I don't care.

I feel kind of stupid posting a question like this on the board, but I guess I was just hoping to maybe learn a good way of broaching the topic with a stranger.

I've always had connections through friends, etc. but the only people I know here who smoke turned out to be jerks (for unrelated reasons) and I don' t want to associate with them anymore.

I liked your suggestion JMorrison, now the tricky part is getting that first joint....d'oh! Oh well, I hope my off-and-on connection will be coming through in the next day or so, maybe that can get me started.

Well it is summer, so find a out door concert and attend it, Im sure u will meet new smokers and then your find a new hook up.

One of my friends is like stoned 24/7, right, well as soon as I got enough money to buy a quarter from him, all his connections dried up in one night. And I hate the people who I still can get weed from so I wouldn't buy from them anyway cuz they'd rip me off. It sucks. I know how it feels not to have any connections man.
