I wanted this one to be a new thread instead of a reply in another thread that did not get enough attention:


Well, this is not my case with my parents... well not yet, haven't discussed this subject with them yet. I don't plan too anytime soon.

My question is: why it seems so many parents have smoked pot in the past (we know that peace years helped) but today we can affirm that you rarely hear of parents smoking pot. Why they all had a weed period and have now quit?

I'd like to interview all of them and ask: what had make you quit smoking pot?

I mean, is it a 'known trip' that apply only to young people?

Is smoking weed a trip known to last 1 or 2 years then you get bored?

If you're one with cool parents and can talk about weed with them, ask them why they quit please! I find this interesting!

I'm now 30, smoking about twice a month for just over a year now and I wonder if I will ever stop and what will make me quit. I may just get bored one day.

For many people smoking pot may be associated with imature activities, high school parties, college keggers and other foolishness. As people mature and grow out of such things they don't have a proper an healthy contex under which to smoke. Instead of taking the substance and applying it to their adult lives, they leave it behind forever associated with the hijinks of their youth.

good questions, but i can't ask my parents those questions. wouldn't be able to talk to them about that.

and wondering if you'll ever quit. lol first of all i don't know if you've even started yet man.

i personally don't think that i'll ever quit smoking unless my lungs start getting badly gunked up. and when that happens i'll just have to bake with my weed. for some people i think it is more of an adolecent thing, they quit as they get older, but for others that actually smoke weed for it's spiritual side, and for relaxing they will never quit.

i am up in yrs..and i have smoked since the age of 15,,,,,i have stopped on several occasions,,,due to various reasons....but i always came back to mary jane.....i am not a criminal by no means and i have a good job and go to work....i think that alot of people smoke but as you get older you learn the tricks of the trade{concelment} and don't just sit around and just smoke out just because/....by the way i only smoke on my wk/ends and really look forward to it every time..it is amazing after you get lit at the number of people that are smoking........will i ever stop totally....well i hope not...i love it and by no means abuse it . i think and i have done alot of things that pot is the best thing going

when he found out I smoked if he ever,and he told me about the one time he blazed a joint on Fountain Square in Cincinnati that he smoked a muggle with a wino he knew.He talked about how he felt high and really didn't see anything wrong with it and he would not condemn me for it.
When I asked him why he wouldn't keep smoking,he said that was simple...it was against the law.That was a good answer then and a good one now.
When you get older,I guess the hassles of being an adult can make you want to shy away from any more hassles,such as the ones that can come with the law.

my parents and most of my aunts and uncles smoke MJ, some more open about it than others. The ones who speak openly about it say that since it is better for you than alcohol that they dont care about the law, but they are carful in public around the police.

I know my mom used to do drugs, and I've asked her about it and she won't say anything. She says shes not going to tell me untill I'm 21. I'll get her to give in someday before then.....

Both my parents smoked, but they're so anti-drug now it makes me wanna puke. They've never actually come "out of the closet" to me, but I found my dad's old paraphenilia box and I've smoked up with a couple aunts and uncles who told me stories about them.

I'd absolutely LOVE to sit my folks down and ask them some questions about ol' Mary Jane....
